Petra Reunion Audio/Video Wanted (NEEDED!)

Just wanted to make my offer a little more clear (and easier to find):

If anyone has a video or audio recording and are willing to send me the original (or a copy?), I will put it onto either DVD or CD for you (or for that matter, cassete tape, VHS, VideoCD, Divx, MP3, MiniDV, Super8, Beta, or pretty much anything else you specify). I will do this free of charge, and if you need it, I'll throw in a little cash to cover shipping. I will then make it available online for the Petheads to view at their convenience. (And if you're scared of the RIAA, I'll keep it annonymous!)

Please e-mail me at schrodyr (at) hotmail.com or respond to this post.

Guys...I can understand why folks would want this preserved on video, but be cautious here. Ask yourselves if you would really want to break laws or maybe cause problems for Petra before acting on this.

Just a thought. Yeah, the Internet can be a blessing or a curse.

I would love to have a mp3.
But I understand what SHELL says...

I think Inpop should have done more attention to this ...

If they allow camcorders at the concert, then the must expect it will be recorded and viewed.

Actually, Shell has made a good point. Normally, camcorders and cameras are not allowed in concerts just to keep people from distributing homemade videos and recordings. Mainly because it could hurt distribution and sales of anything commercially released by the recording company.

On the other hand, if there were no camera restrictions, then it seems fair game.

Maybe since apparently no one saw any cameras or camcorders being used, they weren't allowed.

Yeah...

It was my understanding they weren't going to allow video taping.
So if someone did sneak a camcorder in, they probably don't want to get busted. You need to be careful about this sort of thing, or you could end up hearing the f-word...as in felony.

There might be some automatic copyright protection law in effect by virtue of Petra's recording contract that copyrights all their events whether there's a commercial recording or not.

Maybe someone closer to that part of the music business might have a better understanding of how that works.

I think you all are making a big deal of all this :P , the person who might have a copy can send emails for the interested ones and then communicate that way LOL :P (j/k, I do understand your points but come on!!!! is not like we are making an ilegal bussiness we are just fans who wants a copy for seeing it, we are not planning to make a worlwide bussiness with that video.)

No, but a recording could be construed as "intellectual property". Corporations work that way when it comes to information about their business. I can also see how that arguement could be made pertaining to a recorded concert. The recording company would consider it "loss" if a renegade copy was floating around out there.

Think about it.

I'm not saying that's they way it is - I'm just saying that we wouldn't want to do anything that is ethically wrong and could ultimately not be in Petra's best interest.

As far as the latter, it depends on whether there will be a commercial release of the video. If there won't be, then I don't see how passing around our own copy could possibly make any difference to the band.

Yeah, it's expensive to professionally record a concert, and there probably wasn't a lot of time to plan for it, they had just finished a show in Europe. Josh has some cool pics and a good review of the show, check it out. :)

IF an artist gives permission, one may record a live show, and do with it what he/she desires, as long as it is not sold.

IF one sells the recording, they are breaking the law.

IF one records without permission, then they are breaking the law.

Well, that makes sense.

Now... (drumroll, please) if anyone out there GOT permission to record the concert, please step up!!
