Thogmartin Oldies?

I hope I am not too old for y'all, but I went to a Petra concert in the mid-80s and they had Loyd Thogmartin open for them. Loyd Thogmartin had just put out an album called "Simple Directions". I loved his music and his message, and bought a copy of the album on cassette, which died a loooooong time ago.

Nobody else seems to have heard of Thogmartin, and I would like to know what became of him (sorry if this is too OT for this forum). I would also like to find out if his songs or album are available in digital form (CD, iTunes, etc.). I tried tracking it through his label, Rooftop Records, but me and Google can't find them either (are they still in business?).

Anybody know anything about Thogmartin?

I don't remember him. Kim Boyce opened for Petra in the eighties.
Which album tour was it? Some of my old cassettes have a touring list inside them, I can check.
Also, just do a search under google or yahoo.com.

Kim Boyce opened up for Petra in the early 90s too, she opened up for them in Irvine, CA in 1991. :) I liked her, I wonder what she's doing now.

Petrapraise posted a link to a web site that had a CD? The page linked to only had about a dozen CDs, and none were Thogmartin.

Should I be as confused as I am?

BTW, the concert I saw Loyd Thogmartin at would have been Petra at the Virginia Beach Dome (which has since been torn down) in Virginia Beach, VA, about 1983. Do any of the music sites have Petra's concert details that far back? That might provide some info.

:) Go to google and type in Kim Boyce and it appears she is or was part of the troup at Pierce Arrow Theater.....She was cutting edge Christian dance for her time!

Thanks, it was exactly where you said. All I can say is I was focused in on a particular album title "Simple Direction" and missed Thogmartin's name next to "The Laborers Are Few". The web link there gave me a 404 error, but I sent them an email, so it may still help. Thanks again.

If they have it I don't think will deliver it to MARS.

Delivery to Mars?

I don't see why not! You can't hardly take a stroll out here anymore, what with heat shields falling all around, and robots running over your toes, digging up your rock gardens... just strap the post to the next probe!

P.S. This does have its disadvantages. My full set of Petra concert DVDs was supposed to arrive on Beagle. Oh well.

:-)

The only Virginia Beach show we have in our Petra tour history page for 1983 shows Richie Furay as opener. Perhaps Thogmartin slotted in either before or after Furay?
