OK Petheads - I have a MAJOR dilema.
On Friday, Aug. 13 there are two concerts in my area I could go to see:
1. Amy Grant, FREE concert a mere 3 miles from my home.
2. John Schlitt/Petra, $25 ticket, a full 100+ miles from my home.
WHATEVER SHALL I DO??? WHERE SHOULD I GO??? WHO SHOULD I SEE???
Please help me... the indecision is wreaking havoc on my system

Sue, Sue, Sue...
I'm starting to think that you're slippin' up and finally loosing it! You are supposed to be the end all Pethead! I don't know if you're up to the title anymore if you actually have to think about this decision.
Let's weigh it out shall we...
1. Petra: Greatest Band in the world. Uncomprimising about their faith in what they do. Devoted men of God. Good friend. (John) You haven't seen them in a long time, and they really have stepped it up the last few months.
2. Amy Grant
Bottom line: Petra. Decision not even close!

Drive the 100+ miles to see John and the boys. It'll be worth every mile.
(This coming from someone who drove 600+ miles to see the reunion, 400+ to see them in Sherman, TX, and 150+ when they were ini Longview, TX with Guardian!)

You mean you don't get a free Petra ticket?

Well, heck, I say (and I'm not disagreeing with Enosh's points) maybe you should stick closer to home. Unless of course you're really up for a road trip. Ultimately it has to be up to you.
Are you nuts??

Tough one. I mean, Petra >>> Amy Grant, but free and only 3 miles away....have you seen Amy Grant before?
If you have, Petra probably puts on a better show then Grant, given their style of music-but if you haven't seen Grant before, I'd actually think you should go see her.
I mean, I'd go see Petra, but I've never seen them before.
Hard one

Well, considering I've never seen Amy Grant before in concert and it's free and just down the road, I'd take in her concert. I have been to 2 Petra concerts. Look at it this way...you'll have other opportunities in the future to see Petra in concert.
Whenever Petra comes to MN, 95% of the time they're in the Mpls/St. Paul area so I never have to worry about driving far to see them, so I'd pick Amy Grant this one time.

Petra

or Amy Grant

.... Super Bowl or Foreign Films.... World Series or Lecture on why water freezes at 0 degrees Celcius.... Pizza or spinach.... Olive Garden or Mc Donalds.... Petra's awesome and they rock and Amy Grant is, well, Amy Grant. A really great and memorable time or a nice time. I think the choice is obvious.

Give your free ticket away and they will they you are doing them a favour when in reality the favour is yours because you're off to see Petra! Have a great time and let us know how it was.
sorry

Ok, Petra is not Craig's #1 favorite band..they're like #2 and even he can't believe I said to go to Amy Grant's concert. I kind of can't believe I said it either being they are my favorite.
Craig said he saw Amy Grant with Michael W. Smith once. Her concert was...a concert. After Intermission they all raced to the stage for MWS. He wasn't all that impressed with Amy Grant. Craig says go to the Petra concert.

If it's not possible to see Petra then stay home. No use wasting an evening to see Amy Grant in concert, even if it is free.

I do not see any trouble in which one to go to. You have God and you have...... well, I wont say it, but Go see Petra and have a great time.

thank you all for your fine opinions....
I think some may have missed it - my original post was made tongue-in-cheeck (view the little

icon at the bottom of the post).
While I've never seen Amy Grant and I HAVE seen Petra oodles of times... Petra wins, hands down (even if I have to BUY a ticket to get in... that kinda stinks, doesn't it???)
