St. Augustine,
I do like some parts of In God We Trust, but I was disappointed whne it came out because the hype was this is the Heaviest Stryper has ever been, so there are some songs that I like alot, but in my mind more cons then pros.
Susannah,
Where did you hear about Stryper releasing a new Cd next year? The last thing I heard was it was all up in the air because Tim Gaines is no longer with them. I really hope that is the case, I am eager to hear something new and modern from them. I thought their 2 new songs they put out last year were somewhat weak.
How would ya rate the 5 stryped rockerz?

There is to be "a big announcement" in the first quarter of 05 about Stryper. Tim Gains has a sorted history with the band. He didn't record on many of the albums (chops weren't up to snuff/attitude), and for a time was not with the band at all. He has made some remarks about the Sweets and his disdain for metal music so he is out. You don't mess with the brothers when they own the show. Sounds like Van Halen, eh?
Stryper was never been a Christian band. They have always been Christian musicians playing music about God. This mindset gave them the ability to party with the best of them on the secular tours back in the 80's/90's, take pictures and shoot videos with a cucumber stuffed down their spandex, etc. This crap and a member living with a married lady making babies is a good reason that it had to go away. Shorty after a former manager for said artist disclosed this information, his offices were broken into and stripped to the bone. Somebody out there didn't like that news. You can see why the preacher hated this band so much. The message did not match the deliverer's musician lifestyle.
The album 7 was the last comp album. It had 3 new songs that were basically all done by Michael. They sound like it too. I did like Michael's last album Truth. It was heavier than MS and Real.
Last year's live album sold well enough to get the attention of industry. They did a DVD that will be out the first quarter of next year.

the album 7
The album 7 actually had only 2 new songs on it, and they did sound more like Mike's solo stuf than Stryper. Mike's Truth album was a very good album.
I heard eariler this year about a DVD, but it'd been quiet for a long while now so I thought they had past on it.
P.S. Stryper(ownership wise) is divided 3 ways. Between Mike, Robert, & Oz. Tim came in later as a full time member only.

FORGIVE! FORGET! & LET GO!
Oops. Two songs made it. You are right. In an interview they had three ready to go.
I never did buy it, I just previewed it at the store. I have every album, so these best of things are kind of a waste of money IMHO. The only reason that I bought the Petraphonics things was to hear how Brian Tankersley (SP?) assembled all of it.
