I'm not very familiar with other old Christian rock bands.....and was wondering who sounds like my favorite 70's rock bands.
Anyone who is like Aerosmith? Lynyrd Skynyrd? Foreigner - anyone have a voice as good as Lou Gramm (other than John S.)? ZZ Top? Nobody can replace Grand Funk, so I won't even ask. ; )

You may want to check out some Glass Harp, Phil Keaggy's band.
Also, Sweet Comfort Band, The Way, Parable, Larry Norman, Daniel Amos, DeGarmo & Key and Rez had some great stuff in the 70s. In my opinion.

I don't know of too many Southern Rock bands that got radio play. Billy Powell from Skinard became a Christian at one point and had a band called Vision. You might look for that. It was not Southern Rock per se, but that is as close as you are going to get.
Aerosmith.....nothing like them in Christian music (neither old or new Aerosmith).
Lou G has a Christian record out. It didn't do anything on the charts or radio even though it was on a real label. John Elefonte can kind of sound like Lou. Petra, to me, was close to Foreigner in the song writing and guitar style departments. I will have to think on this one more. There were some incredible singers in Christian music back in the day. Do to oldfartedness disease, I cannot recall them all now, but they will come to me just as I am trying to go to sleep.

Thanks for your suggestions. Phil Keaggy! Awesome guitar player.
Not only was Billy Powell in Vision, but also Mark Farner! I never knew Mark was in a band with a Skynyrd. Mark can STILL rock, and he's as old as.....John and Bob! ; ) I LOVE his voice.
I liked Decemberadio alot too.
