Question for Brent.

Post by bradleyr12 » Sun Jan 30, 2011 3:44 pm

If John were to do another solo record that was an all out face melter, would you oppose producing it? PDC new album was KILLER! I could not believe you got Marco Sfogli for the record. I love his solo record and all of the stuff he has done with James Labries solo stuff. I would love to here him on a John solo record. Marco is a killer session player!!

Thanks for the compliments about Project Damage Control, "Mechanism".

IF John were to call and say, "Hey buddy. I need you to produce my next record." Sure. Who wouldn't?

Years ago, John gave me the formula and genre of THE record he would do, without question. It would be a fun record, but it would not be a face melter. It would be a 70s album rock record. I just don't have the cash to make it happen.

There is no doubt in my mind that Alan, Marco, Alex and I could deliver deliver John a smokin' rock record. All it takes is some moo-lah.

I would love to have you and the other guys as well as Mike Portnoy play drums on a new John album. I would LOVE for John to do a prog rock/metal album, but I don't know how he would pull it off live . Oh well......I would be thrilled with anything John does. If I win the lottery, Ill give John the money 8)

Portnoy has some time on his hands since ASF replaced him. They were not happy with all of the press his Dream Theater exit brought. He has played on Neal Morse' project, which is 100% God oriented.

Portnoy is sort of a whiner and a press hound. I personally am curious to see what direction Dream Theater goes on their new album with a new drummer. I have seen them twice during the Scenes from a Memory tour and they were insane!! I would love to hear a christian band in the same style. That's why I dig Mechanism so much.

How MUCH moo-lah? Not that I have any, but I'm praying God will provide it. You never know.

Huh. I didn't know Mike was already out of A7X. That was short-lived. Still waiting to hear who the new drummer for DT will be. Mike Mangini would fit the bill nicely, as would Thomas Lang.
