This past week I ended up in a small Texas town for work. There was a shop in the town square called "Mustard Seed" that looked to be a gift shop so I went in looking a Christmas gift. It had the usual candle display along with plenty of holiday decorations, all fairly standard. I noticed they had a bible section and also a Christian themed t-shirt section. "Cool" I thought, a small town Christian bookstore. I walked over to the music section expecting to find some Southern Gospel and was surprised to see the likes of "Delirious, Whiteheart, and Jacob's Trouble to name a few. It's like the owner stopped buying stock in the early 90's and the stuff was still on the shelf. Some Supertones, Plankeye and Die Happy were there as well as a handful of artists that I can not remember They were selling for 16.98 a piece. The owner said she just didn't move the stock. Part of the problem is she has t-shirts hanging in front of most of the cd's and the other problem is no one wants the cassettes!
Reminded me of my high school days when the local store would hand me the latest cd when I walked in.
It was way better than itunes...

Yeah those times were awesome. I remember having to wait for the release date and going to the Love Shop to pick up those cassettes.
BTW which town was this?

Great story. This happened to me last summer. I was vacationing in Pensacola, FL. A used cd store I had visited a couple of times before bought another cd store (new and used) that I didn't know even existed. When I went in, it was like time had stopped around the early 1990s. CDs I hadn't seen in ages still in their shrinkwrap. It was like I stepped back in time.

Re: Treasures found in a small country town
I remember going into one in the late 80's and finding stock from the 70's. Seems to be something that's been going on for a long time.
