Anyone here at Creation West/East or similar music fest?

Post by rbnewsdesk » Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:49 am

I bring it up because my family, fiance and her son just finished four days of camping and worship and time at Creation West. While we were battling near 100 degree heat all four days, it was one of the most blessed times I have had and really needed it as a spiritual pick me up after struggling with some things. And the music...well, ok, no Petra...but artists like Rebecca St. James, Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, Michael W., Toby Mac, Audio A, really moved me with their messages and music.

I brought up the topic because was curious how many of you recently attended a similar festival near where you live, and the kind of spiritual blessing you received as a result. Petra could be there, or not. But it would be interesting to here and share. :D

YO, RB

I've never been to a Petra concert in my life, but I have been to two Newsboys concerts and an Audio A concert (with Toby Mac). None of them were festivals, though. Isn't the music at concerts always too loud for you to enjoy? (Although I suppose at festivals you can stand as far away as you want?)

WHAT!!! I CANT HEAR YOU. Wait until the ringing...

actually Creation West is held in a giant outdoor ampitheater over looking a gorge in the Columbia River. We sat usually either in the middle or top of the bowl so the music itself was not loud. And the view of the stage and screen were pretty good. The only complaint about volume came when my girls and I tried to see Superchic(k) at the fringe stage a few hundred feet away. One of my daughters is sensative to loud noises. We basically heard the concert from all the way back at the main amphitheater as it was LOUD. Or put another way, I just happened to take a break on the way back in one of the Honey Buckets on site... not quite 7.0 on the Ritcher scale but it felt like it. :D

Awesome Man!
I have been going to Creation East since 1992. I believe Petra was a closing band my first time around. My wife came on board back in 96 when we were dating and has been joing me ever since. Creation is the biggest and best in my opinion. And, their focus a bit different from many other festivals.
If your interested in the Creation Forum, you can find it at http://www.gman.tourbusstudios.com. There's a big ad link for it at the bottom left. We also have a section of Creation info and pics from several years.

I think festivals like Creation are one of the best things you can do for kids.
