I don't have any updates on the adoption yet, but I just read on yahoo news that a 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit Central Africa in the Republic of the Congo. From the report, it appears that nothing was felt in Nigeria. It's a bit startling to read a headline that reads, "Major quake hits Africa, " when your adopted son is still there. But we know that he is our son and that we have God's protection.

A couple of weeks ago, Mary (the lady that has the orphanage where our adopted son lives), called us and said that she had a dream. She said that in the dream, she had recieved his visa, and went to the airport to come to America with him. When she got to the airport, she realized she had forgotten some of his documents. They wouldn't let her take him on the plane without those documents. She said she'd have to return home, an 8 hour round trip, and get them. They said she could do that, but she'd have to leave the child with them. She went home, got the documents, and returned to the airport. When she arrived at the airport, Malachi (our adopted son) was not there. Somebody had kidnapped him, and she could not find him anywhere.
A woman in our church has the gift of dream interpretation. She said this was a warning dream. We began to use the authority God has given us, and began to pray against this and any harm that might come to Malachi in any way.
Just a few days ago, Mary called us and told us that on Christmas Eve day, two armed men came into the orphanage to kidnap the children. They took two children, and wanted Malachi as well. The orphage worker held on to him, and told them you can't have this child. One of the men hit her, and she held on to the child and repeated that they could not have this one. He was about to hit her again, but he suddenly stopped. They then turned and left the building. They did not take Malachi. Praise God.
We are still awaiting the visa so that he can come home. But even though something tragic could have happened, our God is good to us. It also shows us that God has given us his authority to see things done in this world. Thanks to those who have been praying concerning this.
