The inspiration for a new PDC tune:

Artist: Project Damage Control
Title: Trust You Now

Lyrics: Brent Handy
Music: Alan Sandifer
Arrangement: Brent Handy

Verse 1

One snowy Sunday morning
a man came up to me.
He was wearing shorts and needed money
"to feed his wife and family".
I gave him all the money I had
and he went on his way.
When I saw him drunk on the corner
I had to pull over and say,

Pre Chorus

"This is why I don't trust you now."

Verse 2

Hey Mr. you're a godly man.
Everybody idolizes you.
Thought your life was picture perfect.
There's nothing you couldn't do.
Told your wife you're working late,
at least that's what you say.
It only took you 60 seconds
to break a million hearts today.

Pre Chorus

This is why I don't trust you now!

Chorus
You're a liar and a cheat. You'll get what you deserve.
I don't trust you now!
Preying on our sympathies. You better turn or burn.
I don't trust you now!
(Repeat)

I don't trust you...

Verse 2

There's so many people preaching.
Everybody's on TV.
They're talking about the souls their reaching,
all the children that they feed.
A preacher's worth 10 million dollars
with mansions on the beach.
I think I'll start my own denomination.
Please make your checks out to me.

Pre Chorus

This is why I don't trust you now!

Chorus
You're a liar and a cheat. You'll get what you deserve.
I don't trust you now!
Preying on our sympathies. You better turn or burn.
I don't trust you now!
(Repeat)

I don't trust you...

I would have never recognized these as your lyrics....

Can't wait to HEAR it!

Sad state of affairs, isn't it? The Lord will hold everyone accountable for their actions, whether good OR bad. And you can be sure that when He says it's better fall into the sea and die than to lead a little one astray.... He means it!

Good lyrics. And yes, you do reap what you sow eventually.

yea i like that. I have Alan as a friend on Facebook. the only thing is. but its the truth,, but i dont like telling pple that they will burn. they get so judgemental over that and upset... but yes.. its the truth.. you play with fire.. your gonna get burned. but i know where your coming from.. just a little bit of something in my past that i have learned not to say. but i am hoping with that line.. the music is very heavy,, it will fit well.. again. Good job on the lyrics! they are so relevant to today!
