I can't wait till the LORD comes back and we won't have to worry with all the silly stuff,we can just Praise HIM! George and us all can listen to Petra play stuff! LOL!
That's fine as long as you're a Republican.

The first thing a person should do once they become a Christian is become a Republican.

GOP = God's Own Party

As far as politics go, here's a shock...I don't get involved. The last national election I voted in was '92...the last election I voted in PERIOD was '94 (Iowa state elections).

I do not plan to vote for either Bush OR Kerry. Republican, Democrat...2 sides of the same coin. Both parties don't give a whit about the "common" American people, and I personally believe that 99% of all politicians are bought with bribes. And don't give me the "lesser of two evils" speech...the lesser of two evils is still EVIL.

Here's something to think about...Kerry and Bush are both Yale graduates and both are members of the "fraternity" SKULL AND BONES. Notice the quote marks around the word fraternity...I personally think that SKULL AND BONES is a secret occult society. Both Kerry and Bush are also 33rd degree Masons...another secret society (if you don't believe me, just try getting into one of their meetings if you are not a Mason).

I especially despise how the GOP panders to Christians for our votes every 4 years, promises to change things, and once the elections are over, completely ignores us. And yet, like the lemmings we are, we keep coming back for more. It's time for Christians to wake up and quit being whores for the Republican party!

Jesus says to put your faith in Him, not mortal men. God also says in the bible that this world is to get worse and worse, not better. By putting our faith in politicians, we basically are saying that God is not sufficient. God has HIS timetable, and HIS plan will be done.

Besides, no politician has ever died for my sins, or promised me eternal life! Without Jesus, I wouldn't be here chatting with you all...I would be dead.

Sorry if I offended anyone, but politics is a dead-end subject with me. Now, see what you did? You had me go on a rant! "St. Augustine's Pears' greatest rants...POLITICS...number 167 in a series of 500. Each rant only $1, or buy the whole set for only $299.95!".

It has always been my opion that voting is your, ah, bitching licence. You don't vote, you can't complain about the government. Sorry Pears, as much as you may have had some good points, since you DON"T vote, you can't rant. That simple. Also, if you truly believe there are no valid candidates out there, have you concidered running for office yourself? Though it would be hard to ASK for people to vote for you when YOU yourself refuse to vote. :(

I said the same thing to some people this week. They were complaining about the economy.. blah, blah, blah. I asked when they planned on voting.

Once they said they weren't voting, I calmly explained that they no longer had ANY room to talk about how bad things are.

You can always go in and vote, you don't have to select what's on the ballot. Write something in! If you want Jesus elected, write Him in.

It's your voice... say what YOU want to say.

This discussion is so disgusting, because it's so shallow! OK, Bush won the election (sorry), I did not vote in US (thank God I AM BRAZILIAN). But, the equation republicans=Godly / democrats=ungodly is a shame! Jimmy Carter, a born again Christian, is a democrat! I did write here in the past that americans put the flag upon the cross, I was hardly attacked - I asked myself if my accusers would do the same reaction if the name of Jesus, and not their personal Jesus (Bush) was being questioning. OK, God bless you, keep your "civil religion" with the name of Christianity - the religion of the 2nd beast of Revelation - and leave me alone! For a Christian message board, people must put Christ in first place! And this is not happening here! Bye, bye, for nevermore! I'll keep supporting Petra, praying for them (I know they're not envolved personally with this message board), but I'll not come back here, because it's a shame!

Jimmy might be a Christian, but I wonder if his views and beliefs line up with God's Word?

1. He is very pro-choice
2. He believes in total gun control
3. Stem-cell research is is advancement of science to him
4. He also believes that no kids should be aloud to attend private schools or to be home schooled. He is also talking about separate church-state.
5. He believes like Kerry in that your belief or faith should not come into play when making decisions for a nation or come up in a public forum.
6. One of the groups(habitat for humanity) he is chairman of, is the third biggest supporter of abortion clinics in the world behind the United Way and Lifetime Television.

Now let me ask you does that in your heart and mind define a Christian?

I think some of the non-americans here are missing the point. I voted for Bush, not because he is a Republican, but because he is a Christian and his beliefs follow along with God's Word. I think most of the people here did it for the same reasons.
