Dittos for Jamie Rowe on anything, and Michael Sweet on most things. Ric and Mark always worked well for me also. Some of the songs where they share vocal duties are fantastic.
Liason's stuff was excellent also. I thought the Barren Cross guy was really good, until I bought their live album.

I like Mylon's voice better than John's. I still have "MORE" on my Ipod. Beautiful song.

You better be ready to duck the flaming arrows for saying that.

Yuck. I don't think his voice is anywhere near as good as John's. He sounds kind of country to me. And IMO that song "More" is just so-so.

Re: Mylon LeFevre
Mylon's voice is awesome. Don't compare it to John's. Different era. Mylon had a very unique voice, much like John's in its uniqueness but totally different in type. Mylon was a southerner, so his voice had that tint but that doesn't mean it was country. Some of you people really need to go back and listen to a country station that plays songs from the 80's. Mylon & Broken Heart doesn't sound anything like a country music band from then, ie Alabama. Just because country music nowadays has turned into a big rock-like concert stage, with the electric guitars and such doesn't mean older rock artists sound country. I loved Petra's music better becaused it rocked harder but I always wished I could sing like Mylon. I guess it's because I am a southerner too. When I was growing up, it was Petra first, Mylon second, and then just everyone else. I'll tell you this, Mylon's message in '89 at a concert really made me get serious about God. Mylon and the band did such a great job of bringing you closer to God at their concerts. I too am concerned of his involvement with Copeland. But Mylon really loves the Lord and it is by God's grace that anyone, including me, avoids getting mixed up in their theology. That doesn't mean he isn't a christian. Nothing he has said since getting involved w/Copeland would make me think he wasn't, I just disagree with some of the healing stuff that is insinuated. Anyway, Broken Heart was awesome. The band wasn't all hard rock to begin with, some of their best songs were pop rock and AC (I guess) but I still loved them. Brent probably bought "Live Forever", which was the only live album they did. I have it in my cd changer in my car still today. I love it. I don't really care about whether they used Peavy or not, I'm not a sound engineer. I just loved the music and its influence on my life and always thought his live show was better than the cd, which is why I miss that band so much. The concerts were so awesome. Here are my favorite songs:

Re: Mylon LeFevre
What? You left out "Trains Up In The Sky"!!!!
There was nothing like waiting for the concert to start, and then the lights went down, and you heard "Ya MAH ... Ya mah yay hay yah ... Ya maaaahhh ... Ya mah yah hay Yah ".
And then the stage exploded and there they were!!!
I guess it doesn't have the same impact on cassette.
I agree about Mylon's voice. I wouldn't say it was "better" than John or Greg. It was different. It's an apples to oranges comparison.
I does sadden me to see that he's gotten involved in the whole Word of Faith movement, but I also know that many, many people received Christ because of his ministry.

The video for "Trains Up in the Sky" is my favorite video from CCM for all time, but I also left out Gospel Ship as well. Guess I'm getting old

Okay, no smart remarks about being old! I went to some Mylon and Broken Heart concerts too! And I was somewhat older than junior high!

Ahhh, so we should be word of doubt instead? Thats not very Biblical.RockOn wrote:My concern with Mylon isn't with his singing or songwriting.
I really like Mylon and Broken Heart. I have most of their CDs.
It concerns me that he's involved with Word of Faith theology and has close ties to Kenneth Copeland.
It boggles my mind to see how people can get wrapped up in this heresy.
