Bin Laden is dead!

Well, there is a flock of pigs flying over my house because I have to agree with CatNamedManny's last post.

If Nixon couldn't cover up a little thing like Watergate, and if Clinton couldn't cover up his affair with Lewinski, then what makes anyone think something like faking Bin Laden's death could be covered up. The same goes with 9/11 conspiracy theorists. There's no way on earth that could work.

I will have to say that I think Bush sincerely believed there were WMD's in Iraq, and evidence later emerged that Sadam had deliberately cultivated the idea that he had them so he could use the imaginary weapons to intimidate his neighbors. Also remember that not only the CIA, but also MI6 and Mossad believed Iraq had such weapons. Bush was relying on these reports. I think that's why Bush appeared "unscathed". People are much more forgiving of an honest mistake, no matter how colossal, than they are of deliberate deception.

I think it would have been better to mount Bin Laden's head on a pole outside the Pentagon, but I realize the State Department generally frowns on such practices.
