I heard that he made a conciliatory visit to Prime Minister Martin but declined an invitation to address parliment because hecklers would have turned it into a scene. Then he went to Nova Scotia and made a speech of thanks to the Canadians who showed hospitality to stranded travellers following 9-11.

I liked his joke about the first crowd he saw when he got off the plane. He said he appreciated all the people who waved at him - with all 5 fingers!

Bush was steadfast and admirable for not waivering and sounding apologetic just because he was amidst a disapproving country. America truly has a President who does not shift his views based on popular opinion.

Bush is the kind of leader Canada should elect.
