I can hardly stand listening to pop versions of Christmas songs. They're so not cool, so lame, and so not original. Have ya heard FFH's cover of "The First Nol?" Ya know what I'm talking about.

But if you're playing orchestral Christmas music, then that's super. :D

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. As we've been working on the house we are buying (remodel) we had the radio on and I LOVE Christmas Music, but - man, this new stuff - I don't like at all. I mean, I enjoy new versions of songs but what I've been hearing with some of the songs that they have done - I couldn't get into those at all!
Sometimes I think I'm getting too "old" you know - you are used to "your" music (like for some people it's the traditional hymns that they love to worship the Lord with and they can't get into the praise & worship of today) and I like my praise and worship, vs. the hymns......but man - I LOVE my TRADITIONAL Christmas songs!

I wanna know what everyone else thinks.........
Good subject for discussion.

Actually I would have to say I'm too "new" for the music I love most. Good ol' classic rock all the way from the 60's to the 90's - that's the stuff for me. Despite being a teenager all the way through the first half of the 2000 decade, I could never really warm up to what's been popular the last approx. 5 years.

I guess I would be partial to the traditional side of the the Christmas Songs, but I've also really lost a big desire in the Christmas scheme of things. I work for a large media company and it just gets me down this time of year because it's all about the sales of merchandise. My family and I haven't had a big Christmas in a few years now. We celebrate the Birth of Our Saviour, and might buy a few small gifts for each other and that is it.

Nothing wrong with that. The important thing is that we celebrate the birth of Jesus
