great this "off-topic" portion of the petrazone. now, on with another off-topic.
while petra is my fave christian band of all time, i'd like to steer your attention (those who are willing to be steered anyway) to a british band called MUSE. i first heard them when i was in england, 2001. absolutely amazing.
i share with you this band because of two things: a) many petheads are obviously passionate about great music (otherwise we wouldnt be petheads right?) and b) MUSE is by far one of the most intriguing hard rock bands in the last ten years.
their albums "origin of symmetry" and "absolution" are gothic, neoclassical rock operas resplendent with fuzzy bass and heavy guitarwork, great classical piano, insightful lyrics, all held together with confident, pounding drumwork and lead vocals that make thom yorke of radiohead sound like a yearning, not-so-attuned schoolboy (although that's probably how he wants to sound anyway).
for anyone who hasnt heard of MUSE i say check the band out. you wont be disappointed. plenty of space music to make you keep wanna playing the CDs loud and continuously for as long as your player can handle it.
if there was a rip in the space time continuum with the 21st century dimension crossing into the 17th century dimension, you'd have MUSE. queen meets radiohead. on steroids.
