Any Metalheads here??

Post by pethead4life » Fri Oct 17, 2003 10:40 am

I have really been getting into a lot more metal and I was just wondering if anyone else likes the same kind of stuff. I don't like the heavy death metal, but stuff like Narnia, Joshua, Barren Cross, Neon Cross, RedSea, Stryper, Tamplin, Shout, Blood-N-Fire, etc.. that kind of stuff.

Metal? Did someone say metal? Metal is my middle name! My boyfriend calls me Axe Gurl. I love Stryper and Ken Tamplin, too, as well as Tourniquet, X-Sinner, Holy Soldier...can't think of the others right now.

Man, I love metal! I like to hear all kinds of metal, except for some nu-metal (weird!). I like Extol, SorrowStorm, Veni Domine, Narnia, Saviour Machine (the best!), Living Sacrifice, Tribal Rites (my former band!).

White Cross is about as close to metal as I've ever liked. Does that count?

Bloodgood was hot, does anyone have anymore info on them and can you still get CDs?

Don't know much about Bloodgood though. Don't have any of their stuff, but am looking for some.

I remember them. Their lead singer (Cheryl if I remember right) had a good voice. They did a pretty good remake of "Carry On Wayward Son", although nobody could ever outdo the original.

There aren't enough chick bands out there, lol.

Yngwie Malmsteen redid "Carry On...". and in my opinion, his just totally blows away the original. But that's just me...

You may not even have been born yet, or you were still a baby, when Kansas did that song, Susannah; I'm a few years older than you are and grew up on Kansas. But that's just my preference too.

I usually do prefer originals to remakes, although it is possible for remakes to be better than the originals. But that's just my preference again.

I never really went for Bloodgood (though they were good in concert), but they had a guitarist named David Zaffiro who put out two very good solo albums in the late '80s - the first one was called...I don't remember. But it had the song, I See Red on it, and that was one awesome tune. The second album, I believe, was called In Silent Storm, and it was a little bit hotter, metallically speaking.

Mr. Zaffiro has been a producer for years now, and he's put out some very good stuff. I bet you can find some of it if you plug his name into a search engine.
