Just wanted to let you guys know that we posted pictures on our website, mostly from our first two weeks of travelling... Please check 'em out!
http://www.joshrenaud.com/bolivia
In case anyone was following the news in Bolivia, there have been some big political protests here... It all culminated in a huge "cabildo" last Friday when leaders in Santa Cruz declared "autonomia." There were fears there might be a military or police reaction, but nothing happened... basically 250,000 people turned out for what turned out to be a huge "autonomia" party.
Anyway, we are enjoying the last few days of our time here in Santa Cruz visiting friends and family... I plan to post at least one more entry on the website, so check back!!

Way cool!
Not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but I was in Bolivia in November on vacation. Actually it was a two week trip in an arc shape from Tacna, Peru down through northern Chile's Andes and Atacama Desert, into Bolivia for the Salar de Uyuni, through La Paz, to Copacabana and on to the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca to fly back.
Great pics of the Salar ... makes me miss that place. It was an awesome 3-day tour! I didn't see the Salar wet, that would have been interesting.
I should put some of my pics up at some point. I'm thinking of a longer trip to Bolivia in the future. Would like to see some of the eastern jungle area and take the Death Train!
please please

Stink, you couldn't post yesterday? Probably due to out of control log files that were making the disk fill up. I *hope* it's fixed now, we'll see if it happens again.

Death train? I'm almost afraid to ask...
I would love to see that part of the world...Maybe I could talk my
sister-in-law into a trip in the future and she could show me around Guatemala. Not the near future but some time.

Guatemala is a very nice country. It is the foreign country I know second best, next to Ecuador of course.
I would of course recommend Ecuador.

Would be great fun to show a few Petra fans around here!
What's up.... hmmmm.... Everything's going great!

Yeah, I'm with Shell - what the heck is a Death Train?

Hey Micah, have you read the posts about my Guatemala trip? If not, you can find it around where the July posts are. Or I can just quote from it on this thread.

Actually I don't remember that much about the Death Train, except that it's in the eastern part of Bolivia and descends from the Andes down to the jungle. It sounds cool!
Don't remember if I saw the Guatemala posts or not. Will look for them, but not now, need sleep!
