I'll have to admit, I spent 12 years in catholic schools and never learned
that Groundhog Day has Christian roots. According to an article I saw on Fox News:
"The tradition stems from the Christian holiday of Candlemas, which holds that if a hibernating animal sees its shadow, winter will last another six weeks. If there's no shadow, spring will come early."
Well, unfortunately the little rodent saw his shadow.

Well, I think the groundhogs here in L.A. saw their shadows, cuz it's been like spring the last couple of weeks. People might think I'm weird, but I for one would actually like to have a longer winter!
By the way, "Groundhog Day" is a really good movie.

I would punch winter in the mouth, were it a tangible person, and deserving of a mouth-punching.
