Check this site out. The list contains Christian artists doing secular songs. The funny thing is that Petra made the list. A looked at the song and started laughing. Someone needs to get there facts right before posting.

Those people are idiots. You cannot reason with them. They have also discounted Rick Warren's legitimacy as a pastor, because he doesn't wear a suit. They are going to be smooth ticked off at God when they see Jesus not wearing a suit or socks (another of one of Rick's trademarks.

I happen to like a lot of those songs, so I guess I'm a heathen.

I got a kick out of them listing Mark Farner as having "covered" a Grand Funk Railroad tune. If you wrote the song, are you covering it???
They also forgot that Jars Of Clay has played Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", Newsboys do "Funkytown", Tait shuffles everything from Guns N Roses to Hendrix into their solo sections, and that Relient K has covered half a zillion 80's songs (including the entire Top Gun soundtrack in a 5-minute medley!) and TV themes in their live shows...
Some people really need to find something to do with their lives...

That is so funny. or maybe sad.
Just another example of modern day Pharasees. They are getting so hung up on what the "think" the "law" says, that they spend all of their time splitting hairs and getting riled up over what CHRISTIANS are doing and forget to spend time with the Father.
What's funny is that my band just played near Nashville. The huge crowd pleaser was Judas Kiss. It went so good that while looking for another cover to add to the set we chose....................
God Gave Rn'R to You

We just took Mikey to
Sesame Street Live last night, and Cookie Monster did a cover of Cindi Lauper's "True Colors." Well... Okay, so Cookie Monster didn't ACTUALLY sing the ACTUAL song. It was Professor Art, the Coloring Book Creator and Part-Time Inventor of Weird Gadgets that Don't Work That Well. But it was funnier to say that Cookie Monster sang the cover, because he and Cindi are both on the list...
Hmm. I guess I've probably confused Elo by now, so my job is done!

Doesn't that idiot know that "God Gave Rock And Roll To You" (Petra-wise) first appeared on their 1977 project "Come and Join Us"? Also, doesn't that idiot know that "Petra Means Rock" was a compilation album?
I bet that the idiot at av1611 never listened to any of the songs. Heck, Kirk Franklin's "Lean On Me" is NOT the same "Lean On Me" that Bill Withers did.
I think that he needs to get his facts straight.

I am telling you, you can't reason with these morons. They are a right wing cult unto themselves.

Looking at Mark Farner's discography, I found that a song on his 1988 album
Just Another Injustice has a song entitled
The Writing on the Wall. And who else do we know that has an almost identical song title on their 1988 album?

Stryper of course. From the Album In God We Trust.
