Have any of you noticed on the forum index page that every couple days a new user has registered on the zone, but none of them ever post. I find it odd that this happens so often and on such a regular basis.

It was odd to see "brentgotnofriends" listed. Maybe if is self fulfilling prophecy or how the guy feels. But he has my name too. Creepy.

If it bothers ya, PM them and say Hi. Maybe they'll join in.

What's the point of registering if you're not gonna post anything? Plus I wonder if some of them don't even read stuff here at all.

You never know who might be lurking, and you're not required to post anything to register. Maybe some people just like to register on message boards. It's not all that unusual to have a larger list of registered people in comparison to the people who actually make posts on a message board.

It would be fun to have another introduction thread, we haven't done that for awhile. I'll do that later tonight or tomorrow.

We now have yet another new one today - this is sorta creepy and fishy.

If you look at the profiles of these guys, they're pretty clearly spammers who have written scripts to subscribe to message boards. His web page is in Russian, but turns out to promote a way to start a small business (run it through Babelfish).

It smells like spam to me. Maybe sometime Micah can add a security feature to prevent people from signing up automatically--a vision problem should do well, like the ones that Hotmail uses now.

Now we've got some Karlik_Nos whose profile looks like jumble, possibly because it was typed in a foreign language whose characters can't be accepted by this site? And we already had a guy not too long ago whose profile and user name also looked like that.

Winterlens, I also have the feeling that we should be on the lookout for something.

I dunno but I got spammed by a new user today....

Every time a new user registers, I'm gonna post their username, and, maybe make fun of it somehow. Or, maybe not - that might be rude if, heaven forbid, the new user happens to be someone who actually posts on and reads the zone. So maybe not.

Plus I can't think of anything good for "wilanlil' anyway.

And, as Shell said, you never know who might be lurking here... I am aware of a few lurkers that might surprise you all...
