ALMOST THERE!

In March, Yoli (Johnna) and I submitted a petition for a fiancee visa that would allow her to come to the U.S. and marry me. I found out today that our petition has successfully completed 2 of 3 stages and has been mailed to Bolivia.

All the remains is for Yoli to have an interview at the U.S. embassy in La Paz, Bolivia. I am hoping this will occur within several weeks. If all goes well and she is given the visa, we may be able to have our wedding ceremony before December (like on Nov. 29) and have a reception in St. Louis on Dec. 7.

However, these dates have to be taken with a grain of salt. There is no way of knowing for sure how long it will take the petition to arrive in Bolivia. Nor can we be certain we'll get an interview right away.

The political situation in Bolivia has been explosive in recent weeks, as you may have seen on the news. Their president was forced to resign after weeks of protests and unrest. My understanding is that things have calmed down since he resigned, but things could quickly heat back up.

You can help us by praying for safe and quick transit of documents from the U.S. to Bolivia (sent both by the BCIS and by me). Please pray Yoli would be able to gather all the local documents that she needs with no problems. And finally, pray Yoli would have favor with officials at the U.S. embassy in La Paz, Bolivia when she has her interview, as well as for safety.
