Here's a dash of cold water for you this Monday morning. I was checking out the news and found this article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051114/ap_ ... _abduction
Notice:
- Kara is wearing a Pillar T-Shirt in the picture
- Home-schooled children (typical of very involved Christian parents)
- Kara's Web site (which the story does not link to) "refers to interests in soccer, art and her Christian faith"
I think it's appropriate to pray for this family... that Kara is returned to her surviving family members, and that all three of the children are able to work through the grief over the loss of their parents.

They found them. Fox news says they do not know yet if she was a part of it or was taken.
Both of them need prayer. They are just kids.

WHEW. That certainly is good news. Although at 18 years of age, the guy is pretty close to being a grouwn man, and I'd say he's messed up things for himself big time. For one thing, based on what's in that news article alone, he'll probably be convicted. Then there's the fact that killing a girl's parents and then kidnapping her and smashing a car into a tree with her in it is really NOT the way to a young lady's heart.
Note to any teenagers reading this: DON'T DO STUFF BEHIND YOUR PARENTS' BACKS. God has given them authority over you and the responsibility of protecting you. I'll bet Kara will be wishing for the rest of her life that she didn't go behind her mom and dad's backs to date that guy.

They are reporting now that she was in on the plot to kill her parents. Of course, she'll probably cooperate with the authorities and testify against him for a deal whereby she's tried as a juvenile and held in some juvie facility until she's 18. I say if she was in on it, she should pay the price as well.
Times have certainly changed and not for the better. When I was that age, no one 14 was allowed to date, usually not until they were 16. And no one would have EVER been seen dating someone who was 18. Of course, most guys who were 18 wouldn't have been caught dead being seen with a 14 year old. Sigh.

I hope you're wrong about her being in on the killing part, but I don't know her so it may be true as far as I know. I did hear on reports yesterday that she was NOT supposed to be dating the guy. It was going on behind the parents' back.
