Teen Mania has worked closely with Petra over the years. I know the "Armed & Dangerous" Video was filmed for their ministry.

Once upon a time I thought I would like to visit San Fran, from what I've seen on tv, etc, it seemed to be a beautiful city.

After reading this earlier today (also on The Drudge Report), I wouldn't give this modern day Sodom a penny of my tourism $$$.

varry intristing articol

I'm glad to see that Teen Mania has accomplished so much in San Francisco, and that they're not letting the counterprotesters discourage them. I pray their ministry will still have much success, and I'm sure it will.

hah. Interesting that there was vitriol from one side only. For once it seems the Christian organization was not necessarily inviting this by being especially inflamatory or allowing themselves to be played. Maybe evangelicals are finally getting wise...?

I'm not worried about them.

I'm worried about the easter bunny becoming an endangered species!

Here's the guy who wrote the condemnation.

Tom Ammiano - District 9

(415) 554-5144 - voice

You can e-mail him, too, and let him know what you think of his tolerant town.

Yeah I'm sure that'll change his opinion of the matter.

You're right. We should probably keep our opinions to ourselves.

When have you known that to be the case around here?

I think it's possible to be thoughtful and diplomatic about this. I wrote this email:

Sir, I have a real problem with your recent comments and actions with regard to the Teen Mania rally held in San Francisco.

It is not intolerant or hateful for religious people to practice their faith in accordance with the Scriptures they honor. It is both intolerant and hateful to condemn them for doing so.

I hope you will reconsider both your position and your attitude with regard to this matter.

Nice of you to make a considerate comment spottacus but chances are your quiet even voice will be drowned out by all the other maniacs who send death threats, make comments about the guys sexual orientation, his mother, bomb threat and every other crazy thing.

Muahahahahahaha

Nice of me? I didn't do it to be nice, I did it because I have an obligation to speak up. (So do you, by the way.) Maybe I won't be heard, but at least I'll be making the effort.

Maybe you should read what I said more carefully. I said it was nice of you to keep your email civilized.

See? It's right there in front of you..

In addition I said that a calm civilized response like that is likely to be drowned out by all the uncalm uncivilized responses the guy is probably receiving.

Certainly nothing in there implying you should not say anything.

You musta misundertood me.
