As a Detroit Tigers fan, my schadenfreude is off the charts with this. Very satisfying.

We have independent confirmation that it was not the mayor's fault.

Ahhh. This thing is not as bad as people think. The whole roof inflates. They knew it was coming but just couldn't get enough air out of it fast enough. The thing is designed to rip in sections. They will patch the torn parts and blow it back up.

The perfect metaphor for the Minnesota Vikings' 2010 season...THE ROOF CAVES IN!

The dome roof was designed to last 15-20 years, but it's at 28 years and counting. This will give the state the pretext it needs to pony up the half a billion dollars it would have to contribute to build a new stadium for the Vikings, though for my money I'd rather see the team move into beautiful TCF Bank Stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TCF_Bank_Stadium)on the University of Minnesota campus.

The roof is just inflatable, right? I mean, couldn't you just get some duct tape and a blower and fix it right up?
