Dream Theater finally got their new drummer. I may be a late comer with the news, but I know there's a few guys on this board that like DT. This guy is phenomenal. Can't really expect any less though.

Mike messed up, but....maybe it was a needed change for all since he was not allowed to return.

I can't find anything official on this. The Roadrunner and DT site has nothing. JP published an update 6 hours ago and they still are not saying. How did you come across this info?

I didn't look into it any further or even realize nothing official had been released. Maybe it's bad info then. In reference to your other post...a video? What do you got?

Could very well be. I wondered if he would be a consideration. He can play that type of stuff effortlessly.

Man, I was just watching some videos of his. He is good and all, but not quite an exaggerated showman like Mike. Maybe that is what they need. But the best thing about this guy from a recording stand point is the way he arranges his kit. FREAKIN AWESONE SYMMETRY!!!

His engineer doesn't have to worry about faking the center of the kit, phase shift and all of that. Man, I wish all of the drummers I mix and record would set up that that. Awesome.

I guess that puts to rest the rumour that Neil Peart is the guy.

I think Neil Peart is getting tired of touring and playing drums. He has said in the last few vids that it is taking it's toll on his body and that he just aches when he plays. I would rather Rush continue than Dream Theater.

Agreed. I hate that phil collins had to quit. What a talented guy!

Did you enter the Rush contest? Win a trip to Austin, go back and do a meet and greet (something else Neal doesn't like to do haha), get a swag pack, see the show....what a good date night that would be.

Don't tease me Brent. I'm married!! Just kidding besides, I gave up on contests since I have 2 small kids and a wife who is chronically ill. I have seen rush and dt a couple of times as well as a gazillion Petra concerts. Needless to say, I have to rely on memories.
