This book is out now. It covers the life and ideology of Frank Marshall Davis. He was a mentor to President Obama for many years. Barack's mother and grandfather sent Barack to be mentored by Davis. Mr. Davis was a card carrying member of the Communist party. He had a sizeable FBI file and was on an FBI watchlist.
The book delves into what Davis believed, and the things he wrote in columns and editorials for various newspapers. The language and ideas are eerily similar. Things like hope and change, and fundamental transformation came from Davis. He also talked about things like going after GM, attacking Wall Street, and punishing the rich.
I said in facebook post the other day, that every citizen should consider if this matters. Do you agree with Communist ideology? Is it a problem that the President of the United States was mentored by Davis, and seems to agree with his ideas? Does it matter that, at one time in the U.S., the ideas of Davis were considered unamerican by both parties, and that people like Davis were FBI targets?
I believe we've moved past republican versus democrat as it used to be. The days of JFK, Reagan/Dukakis, Clinton/Bush are gone. I believe we are now in a world of an American system of Gov't versus a Communist system, and that many average Democrats, both politicians and regular folks, don't even realize it.
There's a youtube video of a bunch of hollywood celebrities coming out against the President. I hear stories all the time of people who voted for Obama the first time, but won't be this time, and they all essentially say, "I didn't know.".
Everybody should know this stuff and make an informed decision, no?

Obama is a great Christian man, free of racism and full of economic genius.

You ask the right "Christian people", and they'll agree.

Grove City College, what a fine institution of higher learning. As for Obama, he must have been God's pick since he won the election.

Sorry, gman, but you can't be serious about this. Please go and study European welfare systems and compare these to the American system and communism.
I'm pretty sure they are serious. And why not, I mean Paul Kengor teaches at Grove City College and has another book being sold- that makes it all true.

Yes he is serious, as Americans most of us are totally against this mindset, but Obama is not and has surrounded himself with people in his cabinet and his daily life that bleed socialism & communism. Our Constitution is totally against these two type of ideas.

The evidence speaks volumes and I do think Obama is a socialist and also sides with some of the most important views on communism.

I've heard plenty of people who have come from socialist and communist countries, and they say that what we're doing is turning into a country just like the one they left, and they can't believe it. The president hung out with anti american types in his younger days. I happen to believe he wants to "fundamentally transform", his words, America into something other than what it has always been. He gets that from his parents, and the people that have influenced him over the years.
I guess my real point is, what if any of this is true? Is he really this guy? Does he favor the idealogy of Davis or Marx? Does he envision an America where capitalism and free markets are done away with, or greatly diminished? If any of that is true, does it matter to you as an American citizen? If not, then you're cool with whatever we end up with when the president is done. If it does matter, then listen to his own words, do some research, and decide for yourself who this guy really is. Forget about party lines.
As for the Presidents faith, in his own words: "my individual salvation depends on the collective salvation of the nation.". I don't know what that is.

Me too. I have spoken to former Muslims that are now running Christian ministries for Muslim evangelism, and they say the same thing. They think it is funny that liberals are so ignorant and blind to what is happening before our eyes. It is the whole frog in the pot of slow boiling water thing.

I actually blame the Liberal Christian more than anyone. If Christians were doing what we are suppose too(I lay the blame at my feet just as much as anyone) this wouldn't be an issue.

Something I've noticed over the last 2 years is Obama's way of making us feel like we are not what we use to be which is actually the case, but he points it so bleak for us that we have no other choice but to depend on the federal government for everything. There are alot of people that are caught in his web of deceit. I think he truly hopes the jobs, market, and the will of people won't come back.

I must be lucky that the President hasn't had a chance to change the way I feel. As for the President hoping jobs dissapear forever, well....that's certainly an idea that never crossed my mind. The POTUS hopes that jobs and the market won't improve?
