Does this remind anyone of the fallout from the Danish cartoon? I'm pretty sure most of the people that protested never saw the cartoon- it was a year before the trouble began in that one.

As Petra stated in 1974 "GET BACK TO THE BIBLE". If we would turn back to God, and listen to what He wants, not what we want, we might actually get somewhere. But if we keep on going on this track of socialism, in a few years, this may be the "United Communist States of America".

You are absolutely correct sir.brent wrote:The Obama administration are liars. Even the foreign government officials say that they warned the USA three days prior, and multiple sources have warned us not to make this religious. This is political, and Obama is not telling the truth. We know he isn't, because they have changed their stories twice now.
The movie trailer has been out for a months, it did not have very many views before all of this. This is crap. Those poor countries do not have computers, phones, etc with web access in every house. Heck, some of those countries get all of their news from terrorist organizations. As janky as that video is, I have the Constitutional right to grab my junk and flip those towel heads the bird if I want to, just like they have the right to say what they want about the USA, Christians, etc. I find it ironic that they want the world to abide by the Obama supported agreement not to say anything negative about Islam. Yet, it is ok to persecute Christians and close churches in Egypt. They want to pick and choose what they want people to believe and do.

Yeah but we are right!!! It's time to stop the majority of these people from receiving governmental benefits. Start a small business like I did; I started mine without very little cash and no backing from anyone but the Grace of God. My family has been blessed by God in the last 4 years more than words can say. With our hard work and God's Willingness to deliver we now as of today have 3 employees(not including my wife & I) and 75 regular clients with anywhere from 8-10 one time monthly clients.Matthew RJ wrote:I understand (finally) why so many here are high on Romney ...he speaks like you do!

We need good hard working people, I'm paying people $11-$12 per hour and I could use another 3 to start today and most likely have enough work within 2 weeks from them to be working 40 hours per week, but no one wants to do it. It's a shame they would rather keep receiving their welfare and live it easy. I give God all the glory for anything blessings we get & have.

Re: Movie 2016
Here's a quarter to buy a clue. Poor people pay n income tax, under the federal Gov'ts silly progressive tax system, and tax breaks are not welfare. That's the Gov't allowing hard working people and business to keep their money. Money that the Gov't shouldn't have the right to take in the first place.
As for "these people", I believe that has been definied ad nauseum on this board, and it does not include seniors receiving the medicare they paid for.

Matthew, you are shootin' crap now.
The people on the government boobie are not the elderly. Those people are a different subject. The old people are affected by the low interest rates. Savings is no longer a payoff. Those people are hurting from that, and in the future, hyper inflation.
By and large, the people on the government take are NOT elderly, but young people, who have the ability to get off of their arses and go to work. About three percent of the unemployment statistics are the people who REFUSE to work. The majority of these people not working their own way through the world are single, have children and are not following the Godly model. Now, if you are stupid enough to procreate without sufficient income to raise a child, without marriage, without obligation of any kind, then you get what you get, and you will have a hard, hard life. It is not my fault that I did things the right way, but the government is making it that way.
We are against people sitting on their butts, taking FREE handouts. We are not opposed to helping those in legit need.

Correct! I'm all for helping the ones in need, but not the ones who choose not to work when able.brent wrote:Matthew, you are shootin' crap now.

Re: Movie 2016
Matthew, I can pretty much guarantee you that the people living in red states who are on welfare, by and large they are not voting Republican. Let's not pretend that everybody in a red state votes Republican. Also, the vast majority of the top fifteen welfare states are blue states, the highest unemployment rates are mostly in blue states and Obama is now gutting the policies that had reformed welfare to work requirements. If there is any competition in the matter, it's only because there are so many more red states than there are blue states. But all of this isn't the real problem with people like you. The problem is that you on the left look down on the rest of us as being greedy and uncaring about the poor, but the real fact is, conservatives give more of their own personal income to charity than liberals do and that marks the real difference between us. You on the left love to be generous with other people's money, but not with your own. Jesus taught personal responsibility in charity, he never made it a government thing. We conservatives want to be able to determine how we disperse our charity for ourselves, because we believe that we are better able to do that than the government is. Government welfare is a pit of despair that keeps people dependent and poor and believing that the world owes them something. We on the right love to help someone truly unable to help themselves or someone who is at least willing to try and help themselves while we give them a boost, but no, we don't want to help freeloaders and it would be unbiblical to do so. Oh, and don't lay corporate welfare on conservatives, Obama has done all kinds of things to help those corporations who have been good to him and he has been every bit the corporate welfare guy that Bush was. In true capitalism, business that go under need to be allowed to fail or the system doesn't work, but Bush and Obama failed to allow the system to work and that is corporate welfare. Bush bailed them out and Obama both bailed them out and got the government involved with them (which is socialism by the way.)

I am sorry, you are an idiot. Really. I pay in a large chunk in taxes, but also get a return, because of legit deductions (number of kids, kids in school, etc), so some times I don't pay anything. So, I am not against the people who pay nothing by the government's choice. I am against those who do not file, lie, cheat, steal, and mooch. That's it. Old people on fixed incomes, some type of assistance and even moderate savings don't have to pay much in taxes. People that make the poverty line or below will not have to pay any taxes if they file correctly. SO, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. You are shooting our regurgitated left wing bull crap.Matthew RJ wrote:I'm sorry, but a sweeping # like 47% of America not paying taxes ...includes the eldery and those in legitimate need. Romney's new slogan: "Believe in (half of) America"
As Jon Stewart said recently, "Here it is, your moment of Zen"
If you go back to when Reagan was President, taxes were lower, the economy GREW. It took Clinton mucking it up the last few years to slow it. Under Reagan, contributions were up. If you take less from the people, the people can move by their heart. If the rich people who control the government continue to keep it so they can not pay anything, then the middle class must take up the slack, and taxes must increase. It is the middle class that drives our country's economy. The filthy rich are a very small percentage.

I just think that Matthew's comments show that he feels like most liberals do that the government is there to cure all our problems & sickness. Americans by & large willingly give more of a percentage of their incomes to a charity of their choice than any other nation ever.
It clearly states in the Bible that its the churches responsibility to help the widows & the poor in need; It doesn't say anything about us Christians leaving it to your government to do the job. I find usually the ones that feel the government is not doing "their fair share" to help the poor are usually the ones that give very little of their income & time and to do what God has called them to do.

Oh, I pay in my 35% (combination of Fed and State)...but they give a good chunk back. For what it is worth, you can make $100k and be in the 47% with enough kids, property, etc. Just being in the 47% means nothing. People should be judged by their income and contribution to society, not how much the people determine their tax liabilities are. There are millionaires not paying any taxes.

Actually, as I pointed out in an earlier post, what you have said here is indeed a statistical fact.I find usually the ones that feel the government is not doing "their fair share" to help the poor are usually the ones that give very little of their income & time and to do what God has called them to do.

+1. Beggars and slaves are the only ones wanting the government to help.
This is all about votes. In fact, there is a famous quote by a Democrat President that said "give those uppity N-word a little of what they want and we will have voters for 200 years." It's true. Give people a little, string them along, feed them a line of bull, and they will endure, buying into to whatever vision they need to hear. This is anti-Christ-following- stuff here. I never thought that I would live to see masses of people so blinded by their own circumstances (self-induced or otherwise) that they would sell themselves, their dignity and their common sense like I see now. Maybe it was always here and I was just not in a place to recognize it. That is probably the case.
I know of several multi-millionaires, who are Jesus followers, and cannot give money from their parent company's accounts, but have established other companies for the sole purpose of generating revenue streams for the funding of missions. They go into foreign countries, set up shop and the revenues generated reach the people in that same market. I also know of some big companies like Coke, that donate hundreds of thousands to specific ministers and ministries annually. I used to work for one of them. Every increase in tax dollars is decrease in donations. It is true for churches of all sizes too. When jobs go away, so do the people and eventually the ability for churches to support others and themselves.
If immigrants can come to this country, fight to stay here, work multiple jobs, so their kids have schooling, lunches, after school care, an education, health benefits, free dental and health clinics, etc....then surely these beggars and slaves to the system can get off of their seats of do-nothing-ness and make it themselves.
The problem is not the government isn't doing enough for these poor people. The problem is the poor people are not doing enough for themselves. If we put these worthless men and moms with multiple kids from multiple baby-daddies in the same place as a Mexican just hopping the fence, making them fear for their lives and hold them responsible for their dereliction, with no potential for support aside from friends, family and church, then things might change. What we have are spoiled grown children, with no plans, no preparation, having children themselves, knowing they can all sit in mother Liberty's lap and breast feed. The problem is the people who make these decisions, not the people who don't.
