Worst fictional Petra member is hands down...CARMAN! What a horrible collaboration.

Cheesy & fake are a couple of non subtle descriptions that fit Carmen.

There might be a few actual members that we as fans probably wish were fiction; David Lichens is the first to come to mind.

You know, actually, Micky Mouse could be a good response to this one as well.

He has been to more Petra concerts than any of us, and also most members of the band; Bob probably is the only one that has him beat.

Mickey has been closed to Louie than any of us would care to be :P

Carman...SUCKS artistically. I don't like anything he has done. That song with Petra was terrible. The video was cheese. I do like his level of professionalism, drive, and common sense to know when to quit. He has been forgiving to those that have done him wrong, including a former embezzling accountant. He developed to a point where he was offering shows in large venues for donations at the door. That was a good PR move.

Good fictional members would be John E and Lou G, for their vocal contributions.

First, I think you're all being a little hard on Carman. Sure, he was never my favorite, but I thought alot of him just as a person. The one show I saw live was quite a work of showmanship, and I have always felt his ministry and faith to be very real and genuine.

But as a member of Petra .... nah, probably not.

But lets think of some good fictional Petra members.

In no particular order:
  1. Weird Al Yankovich - He may be one of the most talented musician/singers alive today. He can rap. He can do hard-rock. He can do polka for goodness sake!! Michael Jackson always admired his talent for pop. Chamillionaire was impressed by Al's rapping ability.

    And he is sooooooo funny!!!!
  2. Margaret Becker - There was a time when I wanted to marry that girl. I'd love to hear how that husky, gloriously feminine voice would sound backed up by Petra's instrumentation.

I'm not sure how the wives would feel about her travelling with the band, though.
  3. Liberace - If you know who I'm talking about, you understand. If you don't, I can't explain it.
I wish my brother George were here.
  4. Chuck Norris - Of course he can handle it. I mean ... come on ... he's Chuck Norris!!!!
If at first you don't succeed, then you're not Chuck Norris

Carman isn't my all time favorite either, but I like some of his early songs. I've seen him in concert several times and he's entertaining, he's good with his audience. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I loved Margaret Becker too, she did some great stuff. Does anyone know what she's doing these days?

She had a great female rock voice, reminded me alot of Heart.

Hmmmm....You want to clarify a bit there? Do you mean a concert they might have done together? Just curious.

Next to Petra and Don Francisco, Carman WAS my childhood.

I mean, you can't tell me The Soap Song wasn't amazingly funny. He did a great Elvis impersonation too.

Some of Carman's stuff was very funny--Especially live in concert.
