My Web site has been "suspended" because I have been "spamming." The only problem with that theory is that I of course have NOT been spamming. As soon as I get the site back from 100 Megs Web Hosting I'm probably going to move to a different host... these guys have proved themselves time and again to be a bunch of morons. <SIGH>

And I recommended them to Sam and Sue... sorry guys. If I had known then what I know now!

Well, that's pretty unfair. I don't understand how they can possibly have definite proof that someone is spamming, and it's not right to just shut someone's site down when they can't prove anything for sure. Doesn't mean it's not gonna happen though. I hope you have everything up and running soon.

A lot of people on myspace have had trouble with their sites being hacked and spam being sent that isn't really from them.

I'm very sorry to hear. I hope you can work out something with these guys quickly. I've fortunately never had these kinds of problems with my website.

if you have any mail forms on your site then without proper protection they can be exploited by hackers using a technique call E-mail injection. This allows them to send spam through your site without your knowledge. Perhaps this is what happened?

I'm aware of those kinds of attacks and that had been a problem in the (fairly distant) past... I put protections in place so it shouldn't have been the cause of this. If it is, I wish they would tell me so. So far I haven't heard from them all day... I think I need to start a second trouble ticket. If that doesn't work I'll unfortunately have to call them out on their own public forum boards. <SIGH>

They're being real jerks about this. Uh-oh... I seem to remember getting in big trouble for saying "jerk" on this board once.

Hehe. I remember that, and although it is in the past, that word accurately described that person. I was with you on that one. That person hasn't been around since then either, I guess they decided they'd had their fun and moved on to something else.

I hope that gets resolved soon. I know it's annoying.

Funny thing... I put "jerk" into the search box to try and find that post, and I found it used other places by both me and others, with no complaints at all. Maybe I'm just flame bait.

That was probably before the Zone changed over to what it is now and everyone had to re-register...It may have been lost since it was on the old Zone.

It wasn't just you; people were pretty upset. Anyone else could just as easily have been flame bait. You were in the wrong place and used the wrong word at the wrong time.

I hope that person is enjoying him or herself where ever they are.

For those of you who haven't been posting that long and wonder what this is about, if you want to know send me a private message and I'll explain it. It doesn't really serve any purpose to rehash it now; people who've been posting here for a long time bring up old posts now and then.

I can't believe they're not answering... they've actually been pretty good with me lately.

Well, they turned me back on "temporarily"... which is good, because it gives me a chance to get a backup of my data so I can move to a new host as soon as I settle on one. I turned off my nightly emailing scripts, which are 100% legitimate (a nightly email goes out to people who have posted something on the site but not confirmed their posts) but which I didn't want to trigger their ire again. <SIGH>
