I went to You Tube and listened to a live performance of "Powerhouse" by White Heart, and I thought, this song's rockin! I'm really interested in hearing more. Does anyone know any websites (other than amazon) where I can find any or all of White Heart's cd's for a good price?

You can try ebay. Whiteheart are awesome. I really miss seeing this band in concert. Someone has put up a site for them on my space.

I am listening to WhiteHeart's Freedom CD now in my car. I love it. One of my all time favorite Christian rock albums. However, on the CD, they added one song that was not on the cassette. I sometimes wonder why they even put it on the CD. But I digress. It's still an awesome album.

Whiteheart's TALES OF WONDER album is an underrated gem.

Yes, I agree, Tales Of Wonder, is also a great album. Basically with WhiteHeart, I like Don't Wait for the Movie and Emergency Broadcast. Everything before that is just not very good in my opinion. Then with Freedom, WhiteHeart became an awesome band and put out some really good albums, including ToW, PowerHouse, Highlands and Redemption. Dominate (is this the real name), their first album on Curb Records, was not a favorite of mine, but I do listen to it occaisonally.

It was called Inside. There were some good cuts off that CD. Real dark in my opinion.

Thanks MS. I don't know why I can never remember the name of that album. Yeah, it was a different sound for them. There are some good songs on it though.

I finally got to see them in concert when I lived in El Paso about the time Inside came out. It was a good show, and they mostly did songs off of the Freedom album, and didn't do too much off of Inside.

Buying White Heart

If you go to:

http://www.guidetopetra.com/marketplace.html

...there are links to several places. Put in "White Heart" in the ChristianBook search and you'll find several. You could also check the one right below Christian Book... they often have more rare stuff (although in this case, it doesn't look to me like they have anything ChristianBook doesn't have.)

There are a few other links on that page that might be useful.

There's a list of all of their CDs on their Web site.

Try here.

Little known facts....

Steve Green used to be the lead singer for white heart (first album only).

Power house, Tales Of Wonder, and Highlands are part of a trilogy series that are supposed to represent the different stages of a christians walk with Christ. Starting with being reborn (saved).

Alot of people consider "Freedom" to be their best album. CCM magazine almost listed in their top 100 christian albums but chose "Don't Wait For The Movie" instead.

"Don't Wait For The Movie" was released on VHS in concert form. I have a copy of it, but not an original. It's one of the few on my list ones I'd like to find.

We Are His Hands was one of the songs to make CCM's list of top 100 christian songs. They should have named the list top 100 christian "inspirational songs". They have an entry on Petra that I've been meaning to post.

"Inside" was White Heart's attempt to enter the secular market. The guy they picked to produce only listened to their last album (Highlands). Totally ruined their sound. Although there are a few cool songs like "Ritual".

Whiteheart disbanded after this, but Gersh talked Rick Florian into coming back for one last album "Redemption".

"Hotline" was one of the COOLEST Christian rock songs out at the time. "boop boop boop... ring... ring... <cough> ring... click WE'RE SORRY, THE NUMBER YOU HAVE REACHED..."

hehe

I hear they used to have a phone booth as part of their hotline tour.

One of my all time favorite White Heart songs is early White Heart (pre Rick Florian). "Vital Signs".
