trove is holy

I was watching a video of John and Bob at Flekkeroy Church (2007)
At the ending John sings Love.
Lately john has been wronging the lyrics so often...
In Love, he wrongs the "Love is holy..."
he sings "trove is holy"
I don't like laugh when he misses the lyrics, but I wanna understand why he
says, specially, "trove", he could say a lot of other words like "prove",
"hove", "shrove"

I don't think it's only lately that John keeps messing up his lyrics. There's this passage in Backstage Pass (yes, 15 years ago) when Ronny is picking on John for always forgetting his lyrics.
I've been to a Larry Norman concert once at the Flevo Festival. He also did the song Jesus Freak from DC Talk. And just to be sure that he wouldn't forget the lyrics, he had a lyrics sheet in front of him!! Might be an idea for John...
