Invitation to a new "missions project"
Posted: Fri Dec 28, 2007 1:11 pm
Hi all, I just want to throw out my latest project for discussion, and invite some of the longer term members here to participate if they wish.
I am setting up a private Wiki, using the same software that runs Wikipedia, for discussing creative new ministry ideas to reach an ever-secularizing culture for Christ.
The aim is to collaboratively discuss:
* Ideas for new ministries in various categories including media, youth, humanitarian, whatever ...
* Rebuttals to common misunderstandings of Christianity, such as those put out by Richard Dawkins and others of their confused ilk
* What revival means; documenting what happened in past revivals
* How to stamp hypocrisy out of the church and instill a true Christian worldview in self-proclaimed Christians (that is, I believe, what needs to happen to keep most of our youth from abandoning the faith!)
* Uniting people from different churches and denominations for this goal
I'm just now getting it set up, so any and all ideas and advice are welcome. Such as, how should it be structured, how should I attract people to it, and how can I verify that people are really outreach-minded Christians.
I plan to do controlled invitations. So I hereby invite any of the long term members of this board who have consistently demonstrated Christian character in their posts. If that fits you and you'd like to be involved, drop me a PM.
Note that I do not plan for this to be anonymous. Your username will be based on your real name.
Security is a top priority, and the site is protected by SSL. Non members will not be able to view anything.
Any thoughts?
