solicitations

Post by brent » Thu May 15, 2008 4:19 pm

Anybody else receiving auto warranty phone calls? I ask to be removed from the list, but they persist.

The next most bothersome are the companies that call to offer services I already have, like internet, TV and phone packages.

It should be a crime.

Yep. I started getting snail mail about my auto warranty being up or extending it or something about once a month, and then they started calling my cell phone about it. Funny thing is, my warranty is through Ford, and these people had nothing to do with Ford or at least nothin in the calls or mailings that indicated they were associated with Ford in any way. I have a cell, so I'm not sure how they got ahold of the number since I have gotten the number changed since I purchased the vehicle.

calls

Post by gman » Fri May 16, 2008 6:18 am

We were getting calls all the time for student loans, credit cards, and all sorts of stuff. I finally put a message on my answering machine saying that we were the home of the do not speak list. I was implying that we are on the the do not call list, but I didn't say that because that would have been lying. It worked though. Our answering machine is quiet, and when the phone rings it's most likely someone we know.

You will get these phone calls when you have just bought a new car(for extended warranty) or because your car is getting ready to be out of warranty. All Financial lenders sell your info to these companies even if you request them not too. I just bought 2005 Civic coupe in December for work and it has 33,000 on it and I'm getting these phone calls about 2-3 times a week. I just always tell them to give me their home phone # and I will call them back when it is conveinent for me; It always shuts them up pretty quick.

I figured it was something like that, but I'm still curious as to how they got the cell phone number I got 6 months after getting my car.

Gosh, I hate telemarketing calls with a passion. Especially when I'm taking an afternoon nap between classes.
