PEACE OF MIND: NOW ON-AIR AT CHRISTIANROCK.NET

Post by petrafreak2009 » Thu Oct 16, 2008 7:10 am

They've just added Peace of Mind to the rotation, so the news of it is finally gonna start getting out and played. If anyone can get in contact with Michael, tell him to get in contact with these guys and maybe do a spot for them, because John Schlitt has one.
Also, everyone, go by Christianrock.net and request the song! That'll help get it played more! WE want this to be big. Also, email [email protected] and thank them so much for playing it.

I don't really care for the song maybe because I'm not a Boston fan at all. Boston just never caught my ears, in might be because they were so inconsistent with their music style and career.

I don't know. For me, I LOVE Boston. I love melodic rock. That said, I am used to hearing the song the way Boston recorded it. So, anyone else singing it or playing it is not the same. But that is the point isn't it? It is Stryper playing tribute to one of their influences and the band that is truely putting food on MS's table, cause Stryper is not making much money doing their thing. Is it as good as Boston and did they attempt to play it note for note? Nope. They did the Styper thing to it. I don't like it, but they didn't ask me, and they did what they thought was cool, so I DO respect their creative decisions and intentions.

Stryper or Boston was inconsistant?

It wasn't Boston. They have done nothing but the same thing, have been centered around the same brain and fingers (Tom). If you line up the first two records back to back, they flow naturally. If you then consider all of the legal mess that they had to endure, and then the internal bickering, you can still hear the core vibe in the new crappier stuff with and without Brad. The didn't really change to suit the times either. When Third Stage came out, Madonna and Michael Jackson were the chart toppers and MTV was MTV. They were doing the same old thing.

Stryper is a band that deviated more than once from their "mission" and musical style. Hopefully this new record will be good. I am not that hopeful. I wish that they would have let Michael Wagoner produce/engineer again.
