New book that just came out a few days ago with a full chapter on Head
East (which is John's former band pre-Petra days, if you didn't know) - read on:


Produced By Contemporary (A Celebration of 40 Years Producing Concerts and Spectacular Events) written by Bible Richmond and Steve Schankman was published in September 2008. This full color book is the story of how Schankman and his partner Irv Zuckerman built their company into one of the nation's top entertainment promotion companies. The book contains images of hundreds of rare photos, tickets, and backstage passes from events produced by Contemporary with one chapter dedicated to Head East.

Schankman and Zuckerman managed Head East from 1975 to 1980 and Bible Richmond has covered Head East many times over the past decades as a reviewer, feature writer, columnist , editor, and 38 year veteran of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

This hardcover book is available for around $30 to $40 and can be
purchased through most major online book retailers.
