Just to let you know that conversations have been re-established with the Weavers and things are picking up at their ministry. Right now, we're playing telephone tag but we are able to communicate via e-mail. Hopefuly you will see some changes at
http://www.louieweaverministries.org by the end of the weekend.
By the e-mail and voicemail I have received, they have gotten their non-profit status approved and are working with "Celebrate Family", which is a conference they are working with.
Right now, I am trying to contact Penny, who will hook me up with one of their board of directors....who has some stuff for me to put on the site.
This is cool....I haven't heard from Weavers for 8 months, then BOOM...let's rock and roll!! God's timing is always the best!!

Right after I typed this out, Penny called and we had a half hour conversation. Some additional information that Penny has authorized me to share are:
1) Louie and Penny are keeping busy. God is working in his life and has gotten him through the hurt. Penny was ordering ice cream cones at McDonalds at the time I was talking to her. I said, I'll have one and she laughed!!
2) From the sounds of it, Louie is driving bus for youth missions at the moment. I believe they just got back from Panama and were up in the South Dakota region recently.
3) Louie has some dates lined up drumming with a band that has former members of Mylon LeFevre's band. I don't know if this is a permanent thing for him or not. Those dates will be posted when that info is given to me.
4) There will be a seperate section on a project they are working on called Celebrate Family.
Lot's of stuff going on and hopefully the website will be active her in the next day or so. It is up but no changes have been made for awhile.
Cool.

Yeah, we are pretty excited that it's finally happening. It'll be another three weeks or so before the papers will actually be in Penny's hand! So keep praying that it'll happen soon. Pen and Louie have been waiting a long time for this. I pray that God will use this ministry and Celebrate Family to reach people. The vision is awesome and we hope that this will be in communities all over the country.

Just to let you know that the project the Weavers are working with is up on their site. Just look under the Celebrate Family button on the menu.

Talked to Penny today and she has had those papers in hand for about a week. She is busy faxing them to the various people needing them.
Website news: All menu items go somewhere now. The last button that needed a place to go was the Schedule button. I have created a calendar at Bravenet and we will be using that free service for any concert dates, appearences, etc. so you can keep track of Louie and his travels.
I will be getting more information soon and I have put a bug in Penny's ear about sending content for the news letter (Prayer Partners link) that about 14 of you have signed up for. She agreed that she needs to get something my way and get going on some other stuff.
Louie and another counsel member are working on a mission statement and other Administrative information that they want to add to the site as well.
Both Louie and this other person he is working with both have jobs that they have to work around to feed their families and the demographics aren't very friendly as they are from different areas of the country.
More to come on this. I wanted to fill you in but didn't want to give out info that the Weaver's may not appreciate either.

Hey thanks for doing those updates. There's lots of work to be done now, but we did the first step with having the non-prof!

Penny just sent me information on Louie's schedule. Wait until after 1 a.m. on Friday, July 30, to view it as I have it in an e-mail and need to transfer it to the calendar on the Schedule page.

Nevermind! I remembered I could do this while I am still at work. Three dates have been added to the August calendar. Enjoy!!
Need your opinion on something...

Your opinion from a Pethead point of view
Alright, I have presented this to the Weavers and some others for their opinion. I am in the process of redesigning the site but before I go further, I wanted the Weavers opinion but I would like yours as well.
Go to
http://www.louieweaverministries.org/index2.html . Give me your opinion on the look and feel of that versus the current one. Keep in mind that I have only redesigned the front page. All other pages link to the current pages. I am at a standstill until I hear back from the parties involved.
Yes, Josh, I am using stylesheets here. I know you mentioned that a ways back but, at the time, the Weavers were happy with the frames. Now, they have had a chance to look around and get a taste of other sites, forcing me to learn CSS.
Question for anyone: One thing I am not happy about on this page is the width specifications on here. The width is set to a certain length. I wouldn't mind having this fluxuate depending on the size of one's screen. For example, at home I have a 17" screen (which is where I designed it). At work, I have a 21" screen, making it not fit quite right. I can imagin someone viewing this with a 15" screen and having Louie's right picture getting cut off. Anyone have any solutions? Feel free to view the source. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Again, I would really like any Pethead's opinion on the look of this page versus the current page. Thanks again!!

Nice. I don't know anything about building web sites, so I couldn't give you any advice there, but I like it. It's nice to see Louie out and about with a current web site again.

All we need now is the ability to reach Chris Bruno so that his personal/family website can be back online.
Width specifications

My take on fixed-width pages is that you design for the huge majority of people, because people with monitors outside of the mainstream already know things are going to look a little strange. The Guide is much narrower than the screen resolution I use at work, but it's so difficult to design a page that will expand and contract very much and look good that I just live with it. The main rood of the problem I guess is when you let graphics define the width of your page, which just about every professional site does these days.

I think I figured this out. The <table> function allows for both pixels and percentages in the width and height parameters. I was able to also resize both of Louies pictures so they are better proportioned as well.
