The entire first album. Especially Gonna Fly Away.
And most of the second album.

Those are among my favorites. Every other Petra fan I've known has argued like heck with me over this... most of them seem to really really hate them.

Ah, whatever!

Anyway, it has a message that a LOT of people today need to hear...

"Lone Ranger" is on White Heart's Emergency Broadcast...kind of cut from the same cloth at Back to the Street though...

WOAH this is the thread that I first discovered and I would stand no more, being absolutely obsessed with them. I didn't exactly know what the thread was and I discovered it now again, because I wanted to know. I just remembered the "you know you're a petra fan when etc." and I felt I needed to be on here. Most underrated Petra song, pretty much take the whole of Back To The Street, which in my opinion is the BEST ONE EVER! But I think that Underground is. Stand on Jekyll and Hyde is pretty underrated- first one I heard. Um, maybe Dance or Hey World, but I could be making that up. I tend to love the underrated songs. So glad I found this thread ! :P

Disciple is a good song. Mark Kelly has a good voice.
Agree totally! Truly missed Mark's playing and excellent singing when he left. His backing vocals too were superb.

also in Disciple after Mark sings "Jesus told me to follow" you can clearly hear someone go "oah" like they just got punched in the well you know....
Maybe Greg was showing Mark how to hit a high note
listen to the song I am serious!
I always thought it was the backing vocals repeating the word "follow"...?? Could be my ears though. After years I just discovered the line Mark sang in The Water is Alive...I wonder if they gave him the line as an inside joke/nod to Disciple, since he sings the word "delusion" in both....

To me, "The Water Is Alive" gets way too little attention and would be on my "best of" list if I had to make one. It has never made it, as far as I'm aware, on any official Petra best of album.

Yes what you are hearing is Mark singing “follow.” I had not realized that about “delusion”, very cool!

Mark was and is an amazing BGV! I would have like for him to have had a bit bigger part in the vocals on the BTTR project. Also it would have been nice if he had stayed with the guys for round two. Something about him say no-nonsense though.
