Re: GMO Hell
Stay away from the produce aisle. Whether organic or not, much of it is modified in some way. For example, Bananas. When first discovered, Bananas were quite fragile. Today's grocery store banana has been genetically modified to withstand the rigors of world wide shipping. The same with other fruits.
Life spans are longer today. Keep your weight in check and eat what you like. And for the love of Pete, drink a soda.

Re: GMO Hell
Nearly all bananas sold in the United States are the product of genetic engineering. As is ANY corn you buy in the grocery store. Many other food crops are as well.
Corn, as you know it, is the result of years of very careful cross-pollination to produced the sweet, yellow corn you eat all the time but that simply does not occur in nature.
The yellow bananas you eat are the result of the exact same process. The bananas you eat do not occur in nature and are the result of careful manipulation by human cultivators.
Here's the simple truth about genetically modified food: There are 7.3 billion people on this planet. And the population is rapidly growing. We have two choices:
1. Genetically modify food to resist disease and produce higher yields while using modern technology to eliminate pests and grow food in places it could not possibly grow without modern technology.
2. Let people starve.
We have been genetically modifying food since the first time a farmer cross pollinated to crops. Nearly everything the human race has been eating for centuries has been genetically modified.
"Organic" farming is the path to mass starvation. Only the rich will be able to eat if we insist on only eating "organically" grown food. And when the poor get hungry enough ... they will simply eat the rich.
