There is no money selling albums. The current trend is to release singles as you record them to keep the interest up. A good single creates as much interest short term as one album. It's just how things are now. This band will never rake in the money. There isn't enough interest from people with money.

I don't think it needs to be an either/or proposition. A lot of music acts today will release a series of singles to promote an upcoming album, so they get the best of both worlds.
