I didn't realize that Jer sold the name... it used to go to some kind of a Ebay sale site of his. The name wasn't up for renewal yet, so he must have sold it before his time expired.

How nice of him, instead of offering back to the one who should rightfully own it.

It was a big mess when it happened, and it still makes me mad. But as Shell said, God will take care of it in the end - Jer will get his "just reward."

We do have johnwschlitt.com and johnschlitt.net (Jer had let that one expire, so I grabbed it).... not my first choice, but that's where it's at.

I kinda doubt he sold it, actually. It's more likely he just didn't renew it and KenyaTech snatched it up since it was an established domain. Companies like KenyaTech basically wait for domains to expire and they buy them immediately. They don't actively solicit domains. Their business model is to prey on people who neglect to renew, buying their unrenewed domains and the bottom price, and then selling them back for a much higher price.

Once they buy the domain, they just point it to a fake search engine page that generates a small amount of income. As long as they make more money than it costs to renew the domain, they'll hold onto it. But their bread and butter is selling the domains back to people.
