"Petra Farewell" CD -- Pre-order online now!
I got Mine!
I orderd mine and didn't bat an eye at the shipping cost. Brent is right. They will be ahead of the game on some and will lose money on others. In the end, it's no big deal. I ordered in the hopes it will come early. If it doesn't, I'll buy another copy on the 22nd.
BTW, I also ordered a copy of Project Damage Control. I hear the $2.50 goes right into Brent's pocket. I put my address as Somewhere...between heaven and hell. Will I get it?

CD prices
I went to Wal-Mart today (Brent'll know it... 145th & Kenosha), straight into the CCM section. Par for the course was $13.88, with most others being either that or a dollar cheaper or a dollar more. A very few notable exceptions were like $9.98, something like that... I saw the new Audio A for that price. But regardless of that... $13.88 plus 9% sales tax (that's about what it is here) comes to about $15.12 .Mountain Man wrote:When's the last time you were in a Wal-Mart? They have great CD prices. I've bought brand new releases there for as little as $12.95, and some older albums sell for less than $10.
At any rate, I don't consider $15.47 for a new CD a particularly good price, more of an average one.

Free shipping
I ordered mine plus extra for Christmas gifts for all my friends and relatives that love Petra! I asked how much is the shipping and they said it's free if you order over $100.00 worth! Of course I'm gonna have to give them their Christmas gifts early because none of them will want to wait until Dec. 25th and neither would I!!!

I went ahead and ordered mine today. I even hit the next level up on shipping so I could be assured of getting on 11-22-05.
I thought it might be alot too, but I'd rather go ahead and get it now instead of later. Its more then a Walmart price, but less then a Christian book store price.

Thanksgiving was this past Monday (Oct. 10th) so I don't think that should interfere with shipping too too much.callbeyond wrote:I put my order in....So....we will get it early? Or will we get it ON the 22. That's almost Thanksgiving...is the holiday gonna mess us up, getting our CD's??

Uh-oh. CANADIAN IN THE HOUSE!!!
(Maybe you should explain that Thanksgiving happens at a different time north of the border than south?)
(Uh-oh again... what are all the Mexican Petheads on the board going to do to me when they read that I called the United States "south of the border"?)
(Maybe I'd better just get out of here while the gettin' is good...)

I
I know some of us are on a tight budget and all, but is it really necessary to be complaining about $3.50? It's not like you are spending $16.98 at a Christian book store or anything. We are on a very tight budget in our house, but I set aside about $40 a month to spend on things of this nature. Sometimes I don't spend it for a while so I can get something bigger and better. I'm sorry but if you can't put aside $5-10 a week for things of this nature than my friend you need to cut some of your expenses out of your budget. So to cut this story short stop complaining about having to spend $3 on shipping for something that you want really bad. Like Brent said their not making any money off of you; Their just trying to get you something you want in a quick and timely manner.

Preach preacha!
feel lucky you don't have to deal with the minions of Canada customs-I once had to pay them 15 dollars in charges on something that was listed as costing 30 bucks on the sticker. You never get away with less than 10 bucks tacked on (and they seem to be getting fond of about 16 of late). Plus shipping from the company is often some very odd and high amount to begin with (say 20 dollars). I've bought items internationally and have actually paid less money for the actual product than for all the crap tacked on.
I'd LOVE it if I only paid 3.50.

Re: CD prices
Thank you. Exactly my point. All I'm saying is that the price is not the best reason to buy the CD from this source. Get it for the other perks (early shipping, special cover) but not the price.Michael wrote:$13.88 plus 9% sales tax (that's about what it is here) comes to about $15.12 .

Re: I
You misunderstand the nature of my complaint. It's the way the album was advertised at the "too good to be true" price of less than $12.executioner wrote:...is it really necessary to be complaining about $3.50?

Does anyone know if the CD is being released to retail.
I most likely won't buy the CD online, but will buy it at either Wal Mart or the Hastings here. But when I try to find the CD on the Hastings website to make sure if they will have it, it still doesn't come up. Is it being released to retail on the 22nd as well. Does anyone know?

I
Mountain Man,
You know that that price never includes shipping when it is on the internet. That is standard practice so you knew some shipping costs would have to be involved. $3.50 is average for something like this shipping via the internet.
