You know, I wonder if there is really a direct correlation there. I mean, there were other things going on at the same time. The Baby Boomers were going to college and getting on drugs. The Vietnam War happened with all of its baggage. Things were changing in the entertainment industry, with TV and movies pushing the limits of what was acceptable. I have a hard time placing the whole weight of society's ills on one court decision which only has teeth if you are ignorant of what it actually is. My firm belief is that the thing that has the worst impact on society is the breakdown of the family. When parents don't raise their kids with discipline and morality, those kids grow up to be... SURPRISE! ...undisciplined and amoral.
But that's just MY silly opinion. Carman knows a lot more about things like that than me. 'Cause he's a professional singer and all.

your right Michael, there were other things going on. The decision was a signal or sign of those things going on in our society. It was a decision that basically said we as a country are not going to rely on God to help us any more. We can do it ourselves. This is not a good place to be for anyone, an individual, a family, a church, a city, a county, a state, a country or world.

So, let me ask a straight question here... do you think it should be legal for public schools to require children to pray against their will? It seems like all the Supreme Court decision said was that no, it is not Constitutional to force kids to pray. I don't think it has ever been Constitutional to force religion on people, actually, come to think of it.

No that's not what I'm saying at all. The Holy Spirit or Jesus doesn't force themselves on anyone. But again, whether Carmen says it or someone else says it, I'd have to say it's a pretty staggering statstitic to look at. Yes there were other things happening at that time. But is there any one thing that happened at that time other than the Supreme Court making this decision. It may just be a huge coincidence. But I've learned in the this world, there aren't too many coincidences that don't mean something else.

Oh, I'd say there are a LOT of conicidences that happen that don't mean anything else. But that's just me.

A lot of laws are made that are simply outside my faith. Not for or against, but outside.

That's just me? You're a coincidence that happens and doesn't mean anything else? Sorry, couldn't resist
