No Way Dude! Mylon went preacher/Gaither on us. No more rock out of him. I don't think he has it in him anymore anyway.

Interesting about Mylon. Preachers at his shows say that they saw demonic beings flying around on stage when the lights and fog machines were on. One of them wrote about Christian rock and made Mylon the poster child for what was wrong with it. I think they had to much legalism flavored Kool Aid.

Now, watch that clip on youtube and tell me what kind of voice goes with that music.

Sigh, Mylon and Broken Heart were one of the best rock bands out there. I miss the old days sometimes. 8)

Oddly enough, I was actually at that concert, and I read the article later. I have no idea what the minister was talking about. I had a great time and felt no demonic influences (outside of the fact, if I remember correctly, that one of the songs seemed really slow... the one where the bass player was singing lead vox... and he had a kind of sheepish look on his face so maybe the devil made their sequencer play the incidental percussion tracks at the wrong tempo)

The original article by David Wilkerson (who should know better than to chase windmills like that)

A rebuttal of the claims made by Wilkerson

You got it bud. That was the moron that wrote the book.

When I did my thesis on subliminal messages in music and advertising, I got all of their books and read them. The books were typical. They had oodles of incorrect information about the artists and the origins of the band names. The sensationalized stories were a much better read than the real ones.

Anything by Wilkerson is garbage. Take a look at this quote:

'At first, I couldn't believe what I was seeing on stage. I said out loud, "This can't be happening at a Christian festival - they can't do this to my Jesus! These people can't be this blind - the leaders of this youth ministry can't be so undiscerning! Oh God - what has happened to your church that its leaders, its people, can't see the evil of this abomination?"'

If I could meet DW, I would say: "Well pal, he isn't YOUR Jesus. He is the Son of God. Jesus is too big for your legalistic box. Jesus did not ordain hymns, the pipe organ or the dead religious rituals. He is ALIVE. People are ALIVE. We have freedom to express ourselves in ways that are becoming to God. And I be-coming to God with my Marshall Plexi and Mesa Boogie RectifierIIs on 11!
