I thought it would be fun to find out what scares people since this is supposed to be a "spook" day.
What scares me: "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"
Nah, just joking. Jack Nicholson is pretty spooky, even when he's having a GOOD day.
Stephen King scares the pants off me...He's a good writer as far as keeping your interest, but the terrible things that happen to his characters...Brrr. I've read a few of his books, but he's not someone I read on a regular basis at all. I like mysteries, but not bizarre yucky stuff.
I hate spiders.

A lot of people say the're highly afraid of worms, but I seem to be fascinated with them. A few nights ago when it rained, I saw some earthworms crawling on the campus sidewalks and watched them for awhile.
I'm only afraid of snakes if they're aggresive and try to bite. If a snake is nice and doesn't intend any harm, then I'm not afraid of it.
I've seen a few bats before. They don't freak me out, but if one ever landed on me I'd probably not be laughing.
Spiders are pretty cool. When I went to summer camp for Boy Scouts I often saw some daddy-long-legs crawling on the sides of my tent. I enjoyed watching them sometimes.
However, what does startle me more than anything (and probably everyone else) is sudden loud sounds or things suddenly jumping out in front of your eyes.
Speaking of, on a TV bloopers show, some news reporter was reporting in an outdoors area, and some dude walked over to her and stood inches away from her. Then she turned her head and jumped back with a short scream.

I don't advocate needles or IV's either. Now of course, the Weird Al song "Like a Surgeon" is hilarious and so is the hospital scene of the movie Bean. But, taken seriously, I don't like the thought of a long skinny object being pushed through someone's veins.

I don't like needles or IVs either, but that's the only way I can get the medication I need.

I just grit my teeth and put up with it. It is uncomfortable, but it doesn't really hurt that much. I love the nurses, it's almost worth having to get medication by IV to have them spoil me.
Weird Al is a riot.

How would you respond if you saw a dead worm floating in a puddle of water?

Well, what scares me sometimes is not having health insurance. Specially when I need to see a specialist and can't afford to go.....
I don't like spiders either - or bugs flying in the house.

Yeah, it is hard to have to have doctor's appointments and not have insurance. I'm in the same boat and it can be spooky at times.

Would it be more disgusting if the worm were still alive and flapping around in that puddle of water?
