but
do you mean he WON? I mean, for example, I was saying the votes yesterday and bush was winning then this morning at the newspaper saw more votes for kerry and it was close to bush, so my question is: the counting of all the votes is over??? I mean, after ALL the votes he won or they are still in that???

Won
All of the votes are not yet counted, but the chances of Kerry having a big surge are pretty slim at this point. Kerry would not have "conceded" if he didn't think his chances were slim to none. You can read about it here:
http://news.yahoo.com/elections
To my understanding, the only time Kerry was ever really considered "ahead" was in the exit polls, which are a notoriously bad indicator of how things are going (people lie about who they voted for!) All indicators before the election showed a dead heat (pretty much tied), and then overall Bush was pretty much in the lead all night last night. Plus, he actually won the "popular" vote as well as the "electoral" vote, which I understand hasn't happened since 1988. His lead in the popular vote is like 1.5 million votes.

HE WON
Kerry is done, Bush not only won the majority vote(most in U.S. history), but won the electoral college also. More people voted for Bush than any other U.S. President. It looks like the world is eating alot of crow today.

Bush won 50% or more of the vote. The last time that happen was 1988. The popular votes margin is as of right now 2.6 millon.

Thank God for Bush winning. God always is in charge of who gets in no matter who voted for who. God votes once and thats all the votes needed.

Down the corridor or life in between our death and birth
We may start to lose our way in the search to find our worth
Our value comes in the fact we live
Life is a gift only God can give

Authorities
Actually, it could be argued from Scripture that national leaders are given authority by God:
God appoints individual rulers
I haven't put enough thought into it, unfortunately, to have an answer about evil or corrupt leaders (Saddam Hussein? Yasser Arafat? Adolf Hitler?), but assumedly God grants them authority that they then misuse. In Romans 13:1-4, Paul wrote:Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good.
God appoints individual rulers

god's authority
My personal view is that God established the authority or institution of government, not because he thought it was the best thing to do, but because Israel was begging for a king. Guys like Hitler and Saddam abuse that authority and moral gov'ts, like the U.S., are fully justified in taking them out and stopping the evil.

RJ, I don't buy your liberal spin article. I like the way James Dobson says it:
Dr. Dobson: U.S. Families Won
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Focus on the Family Action Chairman Dr. James C. Dobson issued the following statement today, extolling the re-election of President Bush and the results in 11 states that approved amendments to their constitutions protecting traditional marriage:
"This election is a resounding victory in the battle for American families. We applaud the re-election of President Bush, who has shown himself a true champion for the family and of traditional values. Those who care deeply about the moral issues facing this nation have cause to be encouraged by the prospect of the Bush administration promoting policies supportive of these values throughout his second term.
"We further celebrate the overwhelming successes of pro-family candidates in other races, and in the 11 states that passed amendments to their constitutions protecting traditional marriage. The victorious difference was made by 'values voters,' who have sent the clear message that morality in America is alive and well. And with Minority Leader Tom Daschle being ousted by the voters of South Dakota, a major obstacle in the path of prudent judicial nominees and sensible legislation has been removed.
"Although unaccountable judges and radical activists have continually pushed their agendas in the public square, traditional marriage continues to be upheld by the American people. The passage of 11 marriage amendments, combined with similar measures passed thus far by six other states, is the result of a tremendous grass-roots effort that has sprung up across the country. As we continue the call for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, this election's victories once again demonstrate that American voters believe in traditional marriage."

I don't care who wrote it. I disagree with it in the sense that it seems to promote apathy for modeling morality and decency in our public systems.
One of the reasons why the youth of today widely considers oral sex a non-sexual activity is because of Bill Clinton's escapade with Monica. It demonstrates why we need Godly role models in our highest offices.
If Steve Camp disagrees with that, then shame on him.
