something interesting

Post by executioner » Wed Dec 08, 2004 10:14 am

I found on a secular web site something interesting. Look near the top of the page under honorable mention for rock album of the year 2003.

Yeah, I remember seeing that. The guy who runs that site has always had a soft spot for Petra. I can recall him mentioning them several times over the years.

Sweet!
Other mentions from the Christian realm included Ken Tamplin, and Frontline who changed their name to GS megaphone. I think Rob Rock as well, if that's same guy who did a lot with Christian bands back in the day.

Hahaha, the only bands/artists besides Petra on that list I've really heard of are Pride of Lions, Harem Scarem, Styx, Ken Tamplin, Toto, Hall and Oates and Cheap Trick. I must be really out of it. :D It is cool he'd mention Petra. :)

Melodic Rock

Post by lucianotaz » Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:38 am

The Melodic Rock site is the best to know the news about World Rock music. And they are open to christian stuff. It seems the guys that support this site have some connection with the christian music.

Rob Rock worked with Chris Impellitteri. I can independently confirm that.

Rob & Chris

Post by Metallinostheos » Fri Dec 10, 2004 8:27 am

Rob Rock is one of the most talented vocalists in all of Metal. He is a Christian and has been with Angelica, Impelliteri, Joshua, MARS/Driver, Warrior as well as guesting with Axel Rudi Pell and Tobias Sammet. He is now solo with his own band called Rage of Creation. He ihas one of the best metal voices out there and is truly under-appreciated in Christian circles.

Chris Impelliteri is one of the best Christian guitarists out there. He can shred with the best of them.

Impelliteri is a great guitar player. Since heavey rock, metal, etc never died over seas, that's where he spends his efforts. Now you have to import his records to the US.

He is a Christian guy he says.

i remember seeing a Best Albums Best Players ranking at the second cover of a Guitar Player magazine back in 1988, and Petra was on the second line from the top, right beside (and among) names like Yngwie Malmsteen, Rush, Dio, and others.
and i thought "man, wow...".
this was before i became crazy for Petra.
