My favorite songs from "JEKYLL & HYDE"? Hmm...give me a moment...okay, in no particular order...

"Jekyll & Hyde"...easily the heaviest song Petra has recorded in a long while. It has become an "instant classic" with me. Ranks right up there with "Mine Field"..."Seen and Not Heard"..."Counsel of the Holy"...and of course, "St. Augustine's Pears", on the metal detector.

"Woulda Shoulda Coulda"...extremely catchy song. Great lyrics dealing with regret over choices made in life, with a monster sing-along chorus thrown in. Petra should add this to their concert set-list.

"Perfect World"...this song reminds me of "Wake the Dead" (from Schlitt's solo album, SHAKE). Deceptively mellow intro, then...WHAM!...sledgehammer-to-the-skull metal. I love it!

These are my 3 favorite songs from the CD. The whole JEKYLL & HYDE album is a wonderful return to form for Petra...and I could not be happier. Way to go, guys!

I agree that Jekyll & Hyde is one of Petra'a best, and to be truthful there is only one song on the CD that I will occasionally skip and that is "Living Waters." I love it lyrically, but I just don't care for the arrangement. However, my favorites are:

"Till Everything I Do" - a song that has really been speaking to me lately; I can feel the passion and sincerity in John's vocal.

"Jekyll & Hyde" - a rock anthem classic

"Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda" - terrific arrangement, vocals, and lyrics

"Stand" - love the rhythm

"Sacred Trust" - a song that states everything that is right about Petra

Oh! I get it now! "Living waters" is the first phrase in the song! That's what you meant!

I agree with you that musically the song is weird. The guitar thing that goes "da da - - da da - da - - - - da da - - is hard to listen to without cringing. I usually skip this track as well.
