Buck Owens?

Let me tell you this, the group that i'm with, their first album back in 1980 was recorded at Buck Owens Studios, wich is now "Fat Tracks Studios" owned by none other than Rick Davis, Johnathan Davis's (KORN) father.

My dad still goes to lunch with Buck's bass player....it's hard to be in the music seen here in Bakersfield without knowing a few people.

Everytime we go into that studio to record there sets KORN's first Gold Record on the wall....if that don't top it off, we also recorded at a home studio with a former piano player for Meryle Haggard, he has three Gold Record's on his wall and the engineer for "Fat Tracks" has 3 Gold Records with Top Petty.

Nice. Here is a Buck story.

I was mixing for The Tractors tours. When we were out at a festival, Buck was on after us. Ripley (as in Steve, who made the stereo guitar, the Ripley by Kramer, produced and played with Bob Dillon) stood there watching Buck play that red, white and blue Tele.

His wife new that he wanted one. so she called Bucks people and had him send here one. She told them not to let Ripley know, and not to let him have one. He tried to buy one and was very upset when he couldn't get one. (There were only a handful available from the Custom Shop.) So, time went by. She got worried because it never came. She call the Buck people back. They said that when Buck heard it was for Ripley that he added a gold pick guard and personally engraved a message. Very cool.

Those custom shop Tele's are pretty nice. So is Buck.
