Prices for Petra stuff

Post by Michael » Mon Feb 07, 2005 1:08 pm

Thanks to innovations by Amazon and ChristianBook's tech people, we've now got the actual PRICES of Petra CDs and stuff up on the site:

http://www.GuideToPetra.com/TheList.html

It leads to some interesting observations... for instance, Petra's debut CD, which is virtually unknown except for Petheads and Jesus Freaks from the 70's, is being price-gouged at $30 and up, while Pete Orta's recent major Christian label debut solo CD is now being sold at a premium price of One Red Cent.

I was checking out eBay the other day and they had a number of tapes and CDs for less than a dollar. I hope the people who sell stuff that cheap have other stuff to sell too, LOL.

I saw Pete in concert twice, and have heard samples of his cd...He's nothing short of a superb and creative guitarist, but I never got into his voice.

Orta

We have a cassette of his album, and I have to say, I did enjoy it quite a bit. His voice is quite nice if he doesn't try to get to excited and oversing (like he did on the HOB concert).

I saw him at a coffeehouse in Green Bay... he did a very nice job. Played his guitar and sang; no tracks, no nothing - just a man and his guitar.

Prices

Post by Michael » Thu Feb 17, 2005 2:04 pm

Got the prices from ChristianDiscs up now. No surprises there... they are generally very similar to CBD's prices, often a tad higher, sometimes a bit lower. Oh... and recently I did find a place where you can download a bunch of Petra's back catalog for like $1.50 a song or something:

http://www.mainstreetmusic.com/

They even have the Spanish JAH and the self-titled debut album!
